New Machine: Moving HDDs & DrivePool Over?

St0ry

Question

I'm currently running DrivePool with 5 HDDs and everything is going fine. I'm planning to put together a new system now and would like to move those 5 pooled HDDs over along with the same folder structure, etc... Is there a certain procedure I must follow?

Also, will I be able to port my license over to the new computer? The old computer will be given away and DrivePool won't be used.

Thanks

Yes, and the process is rather simple, actually.

Deactivate the license on the old computer.

Power off the system, and then physically remove the disks.

Move the disks to the new system and power it on.

Install and activate StableBit DrivePool (with the license you just deactivated).

It will immediately recognize the pooled disks and recreate the pool.

It will have the same label, but may be assigned a different drive letter (you can change that if you want, in disk management).

And it will have the exact same content and layout as before.
