Sharing My Drivepool Across The Local Network How Do I Do It?

mbc0

Question

Hi,

I have just changed my home server to Windows 7 from WHS2011.

I need to share the folders across my network for read/write access do I just share the serverfolders directory on the Drivepool virtual drive? I seem to remember reading years ago that it was not a good idea to do that?

Many Thanks in Advance For Any Help

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking here.

If you're asking about how you should share the folders (which is what I think you are trying to ask)...

Then I would recommend sharing each, individual folder (music, public, pictures, video, etc).

Also, I would recommend sharing as "Everyone" for the shares, and set up the NTFS permissions on the pool to be what you want people to have access to (this is how WHS2011 handles it actually).
