Missing Disk

Having added a new drive - to retire some older units.

I was expanding a partition on an 8TB drive (I should know better) and while it reported OK, my SW didn't merge the partitions.

Worse, it resulted in the disk going missing from my pool and creating a new pool. I know how to remove that and I checked and it still has some accessible data but I cant get the drive back into my pool.  I get various error messages error adding drive and handle is invalid

So:

1. my pool still thinks a drive is missing, but I can't add it.

2. The missing drive is seen twice as F: and Pool L

3. I was removing a small SSD its meant to hold file and move to HD but doesn't - that will not complete with a missing drive.

Any suggestions to fix my stupid actions ...

I am not entirely sure but I would consider:
1. Remove F:\ and select the force or somesuch option
2. While you're at it, remove the SSD
3. Locate the relevant data on F:\ (in the PoolPart.* folder) and copy (my preference) or move that into the Pool. The data should spread over Disk 1, D, E and H
4. Remove Pool L, any drives in there. If not possible, see of Pool L comes up after reboot.
5. Format F:\
6. Add F:\ to the Pool
7. Pool L should be gone but if it is still there then you should be able to clean it up
8. DP will reallocate files to F:\ once it re-balances

That's what I would try and if step 3 succeeds then it should be rather risk free.

I was thinking on similar lines. Not sure about where to copy the "PoolPart" to. 

I have spare drive capacity, but how would I eventually paste it back into my pool?

Well, you currently have a Pool, say P:\. Just go into the Poolpart.* folder on the F:\ drive and copy the contents to P:\
