GoogleDrive_ForceUpgradeChunkOrganization: How to force?

davidobe

Question

Hi,

I was under 1.1.5.1249 and updated to 1.1.6.1318 hoping my google drive would initiate upgrade for chunk organization.

I have the Google Drive: The limit for this folder's number of children (files and folders) has been exceeded error.

I tried unmounting and re-mounting after update without success.

I also tried adding the GoogleDrive_ForceUpgradeChunkOrganization in the json file located in C:\ProgramData\StableBit CloudDrive\Service then remounted the drive, but nothing happened.

Do I need to kill the app after unmounting so that the setting in the json file is enabled? Do I need to set "Override" to true? There is so little documentation on what to do :(

What else I am missing since it does not do it automatically.

Thanks!

I was having the exact same error saying that I had reached the max number of files, and it would like like things were uploading but was getting bombarded with that error and really was just spinning the wheels. I did the same fix, updated my CloudDrive install to the beta 1344 and it instantly upgraded my drive and I'm back in business.

Note: You guys should not have to do anything specific. The advanced options setting is to force CloudDrive to convert the entire drive--including existing data--to a hierarchical format. That should not be necessary to fix your problem, and will take many hours (often several days) for a large drive. Any release later than .1314 should automatically use a hierarchy for any new data added to the drive, and move chunks to the hierarchical structure when and if they are modified. If you were still using a .12XX release, you will have to migrate to a BETA. You can find BETA releases here: http://dl.covecube.com/CloudDriveWindows/beta/download/

Using any beta newer than .1314 should immediately fix the per-folder limit issue. If it does not, I would definitely open a ticket before doing anything else: https://stablebit.com/Contact
