billis777
Copy the pool folder from individual hdds, or use the drivepool software to remove the hdds while moving the pool. Should i do 1 hdd at a time or all of them at the same time?
1 Umfriend
Use DP. Add as many HDD as you can. Remove one by one. You can do more at one time but it is a serial process anyway.
0 Umfriend
You can also use placement limiters I think. Never tried it myself. The advantage would be that when you remove a drive, the files won't be placed on other drives that you would remove thereafter. Requires rebalancing I would think. 0 billis777
Thanks for the info umfriend. Does it matter what size the hdds are when moving the drivepool? I read in other posts that it does but cannot understand why.
0 Christopher (Drashna)
No, it doesn't. However, it may be easiest to remove the smallest drives first.
