billis777
I saw people with helium hdds leaking and losing their data but it's hard to distinguish which hdds are helium and which not, also will there be any 18-20tb air filled hdds?
0 Umfriend
With future products I would say the expectation is they will be there at some point. It is not that hard to find non-Helium drives as all helium drives I've seen explicitly advertise this. So if it is not stated then it is not Helium. Also, typically, if you can afford it, it is not a Helium-filled drive.
0 billis777
i was going to buy a seagate expansion 10tb seeing its price point was way lower than seagate 10tb helium hdds and then i found out it uses a helium baracuda pro hdd. Does seagate has 10tb air hdds like wd?
0 Umfriend
Well what do you know, sry, I may well have been wrong. Amazing (not me being wrong, Seagate not marketing this explicitly). You could go for the IronWolf series.
0 Christopher (Drashna)
Depending, it may be cheaper to go enterprise drives, and those should be much more clearly marked.
