Upgraded to 2.* On WHS2011 Is this not an "Add-In" Anymore?

Hi,

 

I have just uninstalled my scanner & drivepool 1.* and installed the new 2.* of both...

 

Scanner is working as an add-in on the dashboard but drivepool is not there any longer? I have a tab in the dashboard but I cannot see the "pool" tab in Server folders & hard drives any longer and only scanner is showing under the add-ins section?

 

Can anyone confirm please?

The 2.0.0.420 release of DrivePool should create a tab in the dashboard on WHS2011.

 

However, it does not feature the full integration that 1.X has (no tabs in server folders and hard drives). It only has the main tab.

This is why we recommend the 1.X version for WHS2011.

Thank you for letting me know... as an end user I thought it was a pretty fair assumption that V2 would be better than V1 which is why I upgraded...

Yes and no. It's got more features, and is more actively developed. But v1.X does feature better dashboard support. The difference here being that v1 is ONLY for WHS2011/SBS2011/WSS2008R2E and v2 is for any version of windows.
