Unusable for duplication

PoolBoy

Question

Pool of 3 HDDs.
Nothing outside the pool folders except the usual hidden folders created by Windows (System Violume information, Recyclebin
Recyclebins are empty
Remeasured.
Rebalanced..

Still it reports:
- 340GB as not usable for duplication. (varies a bit every recheck)
- 76GB Other.
- 164GB unduplicated.

Windows reports  791GB free space on the entire pool.

How can I reclaim the 'lost' space?

Unusable for Duplication isn't really "lost" data.

https://stablebit.com/Support/DrivePool/2.X/Manual?Section=UI Overview#Pool Usage Pie Chart

This is the amount of space that can't be used to duplicate your files, because of a combination of the different sizes of your pooled drives, the different sizes of your files in the pool and the space consumed by the "Other" stuff. DrivePool minimises this as best it can, based on the settings and priorities of your Balancers.

Over time, the system should rebalance the data to eliminate this. but that depends on the disks in question.

However, you can install the Disk Space Equalizer balancer plugin.  This will forcible rebalance the drives, and may eliminate the "unusable for duplication" space.

It's a small pool with different sized drves. 500GB, 1TB, 2TB.
To my best knowledge there is (far)less that 1TB in the pool (unduplicated.) ***
I've remeasured and balanced several times.
Less than a GB in total is outside the pool.

All drives show free space. I would think at least one of the drives would be 100% full before duplication isn't possible anymore.
