Hard Drives with Duplicate Folders

Method007

Question

I'm almost ready to switch and thought of one more scenario last night as I was preparing.  Thank you for your help already.

1)  If I have multiple hard drives, all of which have the same folder names and folder structures, when I pool them together with the folders compress into one?

2)  If I have multiple hard drives, all of which have the same folder names and folder structures, and some of the folders have files that have the exact same names (on multiple hard drives) - When I pool them together do all the files show up?  Are they renamed? Are the copied over each other?  - what happens?

  1. Yes.

  2. The folders, yes.  The files, no.  Only one copy shows up, and identically named files are treated as "duplicates".
If the files are identical, then that's fine. Otherwise you would get "duplicate file mismatch" errors, as duplicates need to be ... well identical.
