I am using StableBit DrivePool with several HDDs connected through an ORICO USB docking station. I also use one SSD with the SSD Optimizer balancer to handle new writes.
My problem is that DrivePool keeps waking up the USB hard drives every 5 minutes, even when I am not accessing the pool and nothing is running on the system.
To try to fix this, I have already changed my settings:
Disabled automatic balancing
Set balancing to run only at 1:00 AM
I rarely use the HDDs (maybe once per week), so I need them to stay asleep. I have "x2" pool duplication.
But even after disabling automatic balancing and scheduling it for 1 AM only, the disks still spin up constantly during the day.
Windows power settings are correct — the drives spin down, but DrivePool immediately wakes them again.
There are no wake events in powercfg /lastwake.
How can I configure DrivePool so my USB hard drives stay asleep and only wake when I actually access files?
Is there a recommended configuration for DrivePool when using USB HDD docking stations?
