Question

Twice now. In disk manage, I deleted volumes (4) and made new basic volumes on each hdd. I made a new pool and added the 4 HDDs. setup rights, copied some data. Then actually used the pool, worked fine. Had to restart server to connect an unreachable usb. After restart the pool does not exist. The HDDs in Manage say (Disk # partition 2).
Drive Pool does not list the drives at all. Scanner does show the 4 HDDs.
Any help would be great. I can do the same all over but am afraid of the same thing happening again.
Using Windows pro as server

When recovering the drive, do you see a hidden PoolPart on the drive(s)?   You may need to enable the "show hidden files" option in Windows to see it.

If these files are no longer on the underlying disks, then  the pool will be removed, since there is no longer a pool.

If the folders are there, try restarting the "StableBit DrivePool Server" on the system, and see if that helps.

I assigned a drive letter to one of the HDDs. In file explorer is shows it has something. When I open that drive there is nothing.
During all this the other pool is functioning fine.
I enabled show hidden items and it shows the typical drive pool files but grayed out. I can enter the poolpart (gray) and the files show normal colored icons. I used task manager to end task on stablebit, drivepool and scanner. Reloaded file explorer and the pool was still there.??? Went back to task manager and did not find anything related. I restarted computer. The one drive I assigned a letter is in second pool the other 3 are missing. So I gave all the HDDs a drive letter and restarted again. The drive pool now appears & complete. My main pool has drive letters assigned to all HDDs as I was going to install snapraid. Curious if it will disappear again if I remove the drive letters.
I historically did not assigned drive letters to pooled disks.
Curious, I have a ghost HDD in manage. It is my drive C but manage shows drive C. Separate issue and I will try to chase that down. How odd.
Thank you for your help. I would appreciate any additional info.
You guys are great!
