Question

Posted

I am thinking of moving from win10 to win11 (need a new motherboard, cpu, ram, and a new ssd boot disk). Currently, I use drivebender and would like to change to drivepool. What would be the best sequence (first to new pc or first to drivepool?) and which steps should I take to get the software and hardware migration done. Would appreciate a detailed answer so I can check how this all works without hopefully having migration issues....given that win10 is almost not supported anymore, I think there will be more users in the same boat. Any guide or plan available would be really nice!

There is a thread here on migrating https://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/511-migrate-from-drive-bender-to-drive-pool/&sortby=date which could be useful to you; it describes ways to do it both with and without un-duplicating first (note that if you are planning to keep the duplication you should turn on duplication in DrivePool before moving your content into it).

Note that while the initial post is from 2014 the most recent is from 2023, so a good idea to read all the way (there's not actually a lot of posts). I haven't used DriveBender myself but will try to help too.
