TK423 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 Can StableBit Cloud monitor a LAN-only machine running StableBit Scanner by routing through another machine on the same LAN that also runs StableBit Scanner with internet access? If I have StableBit Scanner installed on two machines on the same LAN Machine A has internet access Machine B does not have internet access can StableBit Cloud still monitor the status of Machine B’s drives by routing through Machine A (which does have internet and is running StableBit Scanner)? The documentation says: "Easily connect to any other copy of the StableBit Scanner running on your LAN. "Use the StableBit Cloud to manage the app from the web." Just trying to confirm if that setup allows Stablebit Cloud monitoring of Stablebit Scanner installations on LAN only devices or if each machine needs direct outbound access to the internet. Quote
Christopher (Drashna) Posted May 13 Posted May 13 No, the system in question needs to be connected to the internet, as the statistics and communication happens between the software and the service directly. It does not relay through other devices on the network. The "other systems on your lan" is meant for the local remote access. While the page is for StableBit DrivePool, the "remote control" function is the same: https://stablebit.com/Support/DrivePool/2.X/Manual?Section=Remote Control Details Quote
TK423 Posted May 13 Author Posted May 13 Is there any methodology for local notifications from LAN only devices running Stablebit Scanner? Quote
Christopher (Drashna) Posted May 15 Posted May 15 Depends on what you mean by local notifications. Email, SMS, and mobile notifications should be available. As well as Speech powered by TTS in Windows. As for system to system notification, no, that is not supported. Quote
