Scanner service (2.4.0.2928) repeatedly crashes - Win 8.1 x64

Question

Hi all,

Installs fine - service runs momentarily, then always crashes. Windows Event log shows an Error entry and then 2 Information entries. On occasion I will get an error dialog saying that it cannot connect to IPC, otherwise it just keeps restarting and attempting to connect to the service.

I tried the beta, but I wasn't even able to get it fully installed without hanging.

Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks everyone.

Also, the report file mentioned in the Info event is attached (if that is of any use).

I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with Scanner.

Since I'm assuming that this is a clean install, and you haven't set up an "advanced config file" for your system, could you do this then?

http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_Scanner_for_Windows_Error_Reports

After grabbing those, could you uninstall scanner, reset the settings and then reinstall?

Done. Same issue. Oddly enough, there are no files in the ErrorReports directory.

I can start the service manually and it will run briefly (even flash the interface in the client for a second) before it stops again.

Any other things to try?

Thanks!
