You've asked in a ticket and elsewhere.

 

Creating a new drive, with larger storage chunk size may help significantly.  

As does setting the minimum download size to a larger value, as well.

 

Both of these will reduce the communication overhead, and should significantly improve the speed.

 

Increasing the prefetcher value is also a good way, but I'd recommend increasing the trigger size (to like 5-10MB) so that's it's not aggressively prefetching. 

 

 

 

Also, decrease the number of threads.  5-10 each is about the most you'll want.  Too many, and it may adversely affect performance, as the provider may aggressively throttle you.   You can slowly increase it, and see how it goes. But "too high" to start with will cause issues.

(Also, each thread reads and writes to/from the disk, so too much IO could slow down the drive as well).
