$RECYCLE.BIN Folder

VanillaXtract

Question

I looked and found a topic similar to mine here. I have tried performing what the OP did and it seemed successful, but I still see the folders show up when the DrivePool is checking. Any ideas how to find where these files are?

This may be unrelated, but I am also trying to remove a drive that is showing some SMART problems. It errors saying "Error Removing Drive. The directory name is invalid."

The files in the "$RECYCLE.BIN" folder are the deleted files found in the recycle bin.  As for finding out which files are which, no, there really isn't a good way to find out which files are which.

As for the "Directory name is invalid" indicates a file system error.  That you're having SMART errors isn't a good indicator.

Are you using the "Forced damaged drive removal" option? If not, try doing so.  It will skip problem files/folders and may leave files on the disk, but it may be a good idea.
