And for a more "verbose" answer here: 

 

Windows Storage Server 2012R2 uses the same kernel and code as the full on Server 2012R2.  And if this is Storage Server Essentials, then it uses the "WSS" (Windows Server Solutions) code (aka, the WHS style features).  And that work the same (in fact, you'd want to use the WHS2011 Scanner installer for this version).
