Amazon Glacier for Archival purposes?

Nope. 

 

The problem is that there is a 4+ hour wait period to be able to access the data that we've uploaded. That basically makes it unusable for us. Both because file systems like to recheck data, and because it would make the upload verification impossible.

 

We have already looked into it, and discovered this. Sorry.
