Removed physical disks and borked WHS2011's Dashboard

Here is what I did:

Physically removed two HDDs that were part of  a drive pool.  No back ups or important data were on them, just one shared folder (movies) that were not moved prior to removing the HDDs.

 

Here is what happened:

Dashboard will not open, not even in safe mode.  All other server features work.

 

Not knowing what I am doing, I have placed the drives back in the machine and still no joy.

 

Any ideas or suggestions to repair dashboard?

What version of DP are you running, 1.x or 2.x? If you are running 2.x I would see if I could open the DrivePool program itself and see if it comes up. If it does, see if the Pool appears to be OK (and whether they have accepted the returned HDDs).

 

Then there are logs you can look at but I do not know where/which.

I'll tell you this, If you screw up dashboard you go nowhere fast!

Sorry, I do not know what to do if even the dashboard won't open. Normally, if it crashes it will the next time ask you whether you want to disable add ins causing issues. If even that does not work... I would wait for Drashna to chime in.

Could you grab the logs from "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows Server\Logs", and email them to me at "christopher@covecube.com".

Note, this is 'ProgramData" and NOT "Program Files", and the folder may be hidden by default.
