p3x-749
Hi, now with Win-10 upgrades coming in free for everyone, I'd like to ask: - what is the status of supporting windoze 10 for your product line? - any recommended upgrade procedure already? TIA, fred
0 Christopher (Drashna)
Well, free for most people. We're waiting on the new version of Visual Studio to be released, that properly support Windows 10, so that we can compile and test a Windows 10 specific driver for StableBit DrivePool. Since we're waiting on Microsoft for this, we don't have an ETA. But we do hope that we will have it out before the July 29th GA (release) date. As for recommended upgrade procedure, that depends on the system. However, we would recommend uninstalling the current version before updating, then update the OS, and then reinstall StableBit DrivePool, to ensure that you get the correct drivers installed. 0 p3x-749
Thank you for the response. Hmm...looks like a tight squeeze So, what are my options, if your version for win-10 will not be ready before the GA date of win-10? I mean, how long can I postpone the upgrade without loosing my rights to do/perform this (not a Stablebit question, I know)..does anybody know? 0 Christopher (Drashna)
Yeah, it definitely is. And as the date draws closer, we may re-evaluate the situation. Worst case, the current version does appear to work on Windows 10, so if you must, you can use it.
