Pichu0102
I have a SATA 3 drive, a SATA 2 drive, 2 USB 3s and 2 USB 2s in my pool. Is there a way to tell Drivepool to balance less used files to slower drives and more accessed files to the faster drives on a regular basis? 0 Christopher (Drashna)
No, there isn't an "automatic" way to do this. If you have duplication enabled, and read striping, it may just read from the faster disk, to optimize performance, though. Additionally, you can use the file placement rules to limit specific folders (or even file extensions) to specific folders, though. And I'll submit a feature request to Alex (the developer) for this. https://stablebit.com/Admin/IssueAnalysis/14568 For reference, when Alex responses to it. 0 Christopher (Drashna)
Just to clarify, the Read Striping feature should take care of this, for the most part. At least from a read aspect. And for a bit of detail about the fetaure (and some related stuff), you should check this out: http://stablebit.com/Support/DrivePool/2.X/Manual?Section=Performance%20Options And here is the section about File Placement Rules: http://stablebit.com/Support/DrivePool/2.X/Manual?Section=File%20Placement
