I was able to get by this by uninstalling again and then reinstalling. Not sure if this will help you.

I'm having a similar issue. I tried to uninstall it, it would not completely unistall… I reinstalled and now it says background service failed to start. Try to restart the computer. I restarted and its still not working. Any thoughts?
