Cobalt503 got a reaction from inertiauk in How to only move the "To Upload" files in cache to another drive?
Bump this really needs to be address. I haven't seen anyone mention how to relocate the cache.

In windows explorer I see the hidden file folder for cloud drive part file etc. But I'm sure it's not moveable because it's "in use" so is there plans for the software to implement a move local cache feature?

I am having the same problem. I need to relocate the cloud drive to another computer and getting access denied.

I can remember when movies would fit on a CD ~700MB. Then the files were split on 2 CD's for ~1400MB. Then DVD's came in at 4.37GB and double sided DVDs at 9.4GB. Then BlueRay discs ~25GB but some BlueRay disc formats are up to 100GB. It's just a constant moving target, I guess. A 5000mb prefetch should be good for about half a 1080p movie these days.
Most of my current 1080p movies are between 8GB - 14GB. If I get a movie >15GB, I start to have buffering issues on my Amazon Fire TV stick. However, I have seen a number of new 4K movies uploaded at ~40GB to ~70GB. I don't have a 4K TV, so I don't even bother with those large 4K movie files. If I find a movie I really want only available in a large file, then I will run it through the free utility Shanna encoder and reduce it down to 1080p or 720p. I usually reduce to 720p. At 720p resolution, most files are reduced to ~3GB in size, so the entire file would fit on your prefetch forward to 5000mb.

Bump for attention. I came looking for a discord group to talk to people in. Live.. I've been really enjoying getting support from devs and their product support people directly through discord. I just made progress a few minutes ago on my setup specifically through discord. Also it's nice for everyone to be able to bounce ideas off each other.

Cobalt503 got a reaction from Antoineki in Really need some better bandwidth controls
I would really benefit from a scheduler for bandwidth management much like utorrents scheduler. Also the 4-5 clicks / cloud drive to change the bandwidth is a lot.. I know I've asked and you said you would submit a feature request.

But squeaky wheel gets the grease ya know..

PLZ PLZ PLZ give us some better bandwidth management controls and maybe a scheduler...

(ALSO a global bandwidth control would be nice instead of managing per cloud drive since i have 3)

I don't believe that's how it works at the moment. That might be a feature request. I think it just dismounts and waits for you to tell it to retry.

My internet sometime drops for a few minutes to one hour, the number of consecutive failures could be huge. It is not safe to set that threshold too high, so I hope my CloudDrive could first unmounts the drive, keeps testing for connection, and then auto reconnect and remount everything.

The indexing process runs after every restart for me. I go through the process of un-mounting the drives before a restart and I still have this issue.  It takes a little over a day before all of my drives finish the indexing and are usable again.  I am currently on .827.

Been using .870 for a while not and never had issues with it. But it has come to light everytime in the midst of an upload and when I need to restart Clouddrive re-uploads my entire cache (50gb)+ the data is was moving... is this normal? Now I checked again and it seems to perform a recovery when the application restarts after rebooting the system like it was just "ungracefully shutdown" by Windows instead of waiting for Clouddrive to close down first. Is there anyway to fix this?

I have a 10TB drive on one of those potentially volatile accounts and I recently set up gsuite as a backup and am going to pay the 10$/month for it and I would like to transfer over what I've upload already upload since my upload is crap.

PLEASE tell me there is some way to do this?

Word on the street is they aren't enforcing the 1tb limit for those with less than 5 users. Also admin has the ability to delete people's shit so good luck trying to convince people you aren't ever going to abandon the project / delete their shit.

Wouldn't it be much easier to just use Google's built in share function to share all your data from one account to the other (if it's between 2 Google accounts)? It'll be much faster (and potentially cheaper) than using a VPS. Although I can understand if people want to avoid giving Google any indication that the two accounts are linked together in some way. If one account gets shut down for TOS violations, no need to put your other accounts at risk; in which case a VPS is the best route.

But if that isn't an issue, I imagine using Google's share function would be the fastest way and sharing a Cloudpart folder between two accounts should be fine, since the data is at least obfuscated, if it isn't encrypted as well.

    1. Detach the drive from your computer.
    2. Go to the Google Drive website and log in with Account #1, click on the CloudDrive folder and share it; copy the link.
    3. Log out of Account #1 and log into the Gdrive website with Account #2. Copy and paste the link into your browser.
    4. Right click on the folders you shared and go to "add to my drive".
    5. Go to your Gdrive, and you'll the folders there. They're still owned by Account #1 though; so right click and go to "make a copy".
    6. The folder called "Copy of XXX" is now owned by Account #2. So if Account #1 is deleted, or stops sharing the file, you'll still have access to them because you own those folders.
    7. Rename the folder from "Copy of XXX" to just "XXX" and follow steps 3 and 4 from this thread (and there's troubleshooting info there too): http://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/2762-copying-to-a-second-cloud-provider/?p=19682

Of course, if you want to make a new drive and transfer your data to it, then using a VPS that allows Windows installs would probably be your best bet.

If you wanted to do that instead, then you'd just need to find a VPS provider that utilizes Windows and pay for that. Once you've done that:

    1. Install Stablebit CloudDrive
    2. Connect to your old account and to your new account in CloudDrive.
    3. Create the 256TB drive on your new account.
    4. Attach your old Clouddrive drive.
    5. Copy and paste between the two.

Well, I'm definitely not a UI expect (though, I'd rather have all the resolutions listed ... but that's just me )

Maybe a "Custom" option that leaves the box blank may be a better solution....

Either way, I've passed on the feedback to Alex (the Developer), so he can review it.

When a drive is first created, the last advanced setting, cluster size, dictates maximum drive size.

Any sizes over 10TB you're required to type into the cloud drive size setting box.

If you want the maximum size, simply type 256TB.

Guys to correct a few things:

Prefetch Trigger: This is the amount of data that needs to be read sequentially in order to trigger the prefetcher. Prefetch Forward: Once prefetching is triggered, this is the amount of data that will be pre-downloaded ahead of the current read request. Prefetch Time Window: This controls how quickly the sequential read requests have to occur in order to trigger the prefetcher. For example, with the prefetch trigger set to 1 MB and the prefetch time window set to 30 seconds, if an application reads the first megabyte of a file sequentially, but it does so very slowly and takes longer than 30 seconds to do it, that won't trigger the prefetcher.     So, you want the time window to be on the smaller side, actually. 30s should be fine

Nope, it shouldn't affect it one way or another.

Curious to know if it's downloading the whole file when scanning it as this will throw a spanner into the works with my plan.

Well, we appreciate the feedback, regardless!  it helps us to make a better product in general.

    I've added the requests:

    bandwidth throttling:
    https://stablebit.com/Admin/IssueAnalysis/27434

However, as for the size limits ... this is a lot more complicated. Some providers give us back incorrect information, depending on a few things. "unlimited" accounts are especially bad about this.  They'll report a max capacity, even when the account is unlimited.

That said, a check when creating the drive wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea.  (as opposed to your suggestion of on the main list, as this would keep down the number of API checks).
    https://stablebit.com/Admin/IssueAnalysis/27435

Additionally, if we do implement these sorts of changes, they won't make the stable version. They may make it into a 1.1 release, but we're pretty much feature set at this point, as we do want a stable version out soon.
