  1. For the OS i am using Windows Server 2022. There is a feature in Windows server OS's called DFS Namespace. I thought that would work but either i dont have it setup right or its not doing what i thought it would do. For the case i acquired one of the case from 45Drives.com. They can run pretty expensive but i know a business that was getting rid of one so i got it used. I actually have upgraded from some of the Norco 24 bay servers. Not sure how your setup for room but to get those higher drive counts your looking more for a server case. if you google 24 bay server cases you should find plenty.
  2. So i have been searching for awhile and cannot find a good solution. So looking to see if anyone else can help think "outside the box". I currently have one 45 drive case that i am almost done filling. I am about to acquire a second 45 drive case and looking to expand DrivePool into that. What i am trying to figure out is how to combine the two servers into one to present as one file share for my network. I am not a fan of the "turn it into a drive enclosure" idea as i think it presents to many drives for one server to handle. Scanner already takes forever to scan the 45 drives in the one case for it to potentially be scanning 90 drives is not a thought i like. My hope was to use StableBit on each server to handle that processing and then maybe getting a "head" server to then combine the servers together in some way. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
  3. So i am trying to think a little outside the box here. So what i have is a Windows machine running DrivePool as my NAS. I have a gaming computer that has a 1TB m.2 game drive. What i would like to do is maybe use CloudDrive in a way that i can "expand" my 1TB game drive with my NAS and be able to download all my game libraries (which exceed 3TBs right now, in a way that it caches the games i currently play on the local m.2 drive but the rest of the library is on the NAS. Steam, Oculus, Epic, GOG, etc, would all see the games as if they are installed; however they just happen to be on the NAS for now until i am ready to play. Is this doable? Can i dictate on the gaming machine which files to maintain local until i am ready to move them in to "archive" for another game? Thanks
  4. So i have not seen anything on this recently so looking to see if there is any new info. Can i take two servers running DrivePool and "cluster" or "pool" them together? I am running out of slots for drives in my one machine and was thinking of getting a second machine to have more drive slots. I was looking to "cluster" them together so they present 1 share to my network. Thanks
  5. Not to spam the thread but DrivePool is also throwing errors. Windows Event Log DrivePool.txt ErrorReport_2018_02_02-07_20_55.9.saencryptedreport ErrorReport_2018_02_02-07_20_56.0.saencryptedreport ErrorReport_2018_02_02-07_20_55.6.saencryptedreport ErrorReport_2018_02_02-07_20_55.7.saencryptedreport
  6. Greetings I have setup a Core server and have installed Scanner on it. It appears scanner is running fine but i am seeing occasional errors in the Event logs: Any thoughts on these? Thanks Windows Event Log.txt ErrorReport_2018_02_02-05_55_03.5.saencryptedreport ErrorReport_2018_02_02-06_22_47.5.saencryptedreport ErrorReport_2018_02_02-06_22_47.6.saencryptedreport ErrorReport_2018_02_02-05_55_03.4.saencryptedreport
  7. Perfect. I will check that out.
  8. So i am doing something outside the box and am wondering if DrivePool can do this. I see mentions of something similar but no real answer. So i have decided to build separate enclosures of drives and attach them to my server in more of a DIY Direct Attach System fashion. My goal is to have separate encloses holding 20 hard drives with maybe an ssd or two for cache. I would then pool each enclosure, then i would make one master pool from all the enclosures. The system is seeing the drives as attached drives and i can format them into one huge pool, but was thinking separate pools could be better? Thoughts?
  9. Greetings Folks. I am sorta new to the DrivePool and CloudDrive products and looking for a little help on set up. I am looking to use two cloud providers as drives in a DrivePool and i want them to essential duplicate or mirror the other. I have both drives setup with a local cache drive and i have my pool created with one of the CloudDrives and the SSD cache plug in. Are there any other steps to make sure the SSD cache is used for the initial writing if i turn on the Pool File Duplication? is this the option i want? Also what is the best way to do it so that the mirror happens in the back ground as to not take up all my bandwidth when something gets uploaded to the DrivePool. Thanks!
