So I moved Stablebit Cloud drive from my laptop to my desktop yesterday. I noticed today that my desktop keeps crashing, was randomly doing it all night. So stablebit is in recovering mode. I want to scrap my desktop and use my laptop but when I try to attach it, it says its already attached and doesn't give me an option to force attach

From around beta 2.2.0.870 the drivepool gui stops responding and services log stops updating...
 
Now im on 877 and it crashes more frequently now..
 
I need to restart my server to get it working.. and with resyncing it takes me 2hours..
 
Can i reset the gui somehow or/and send a debug report?

I'm using Drivepool (Beta) since 2015, recently bought it because it's a great tool.
 
But nowadays I have problem, there are some data hogging my SSD space. I read all the stickies and it seems Drivepool want to move my data but it somehow can't? I will post some images, hopefully somebody can point me into the right direction, thx!
A: & C: are my SSDs, every fileplacement rule is the same as the first one!

when windows starts, i have to manually start cloud drive, why?

I've been a DrivePool user for many years. I downloaded and activated an evaluation license for CloudDrive about 5 days ago. Things were working well until this morning when the activation was lost and I am unable to request another trial license.
 
Any suggestions?

I just updated Windows and now DrivePool won't load one of my pools.  I have 4 drives assigned to two pools (two drive per pool), and one pool won't show up in DrivePool on my system. The data is on the drives, including the hidden DrivePool folders, but DrivePool won't recognize the pool data as being on either of the two drives.
 
When I open DrivePool I can see the two drives in the list, so it looks like I can create a new pool with the two drives, but the original pool can't be seen.
 
The interesting thing is that the disk management option in Windows shows a new partition as RAW (2TB), as well as a second unallocated partition (2TB) (CoveCubeFS - which I assume is related to DrivePool). I'm not sure where those come from as the missing pool drives are 3TB each, with about 1TB free (they are duplicated with each other in the pool). All drives are accounted for in Windows' disk management tool.
 
How can I go about getting the pool working again as well as preserving my data?
 
UPDATE: I just saw another post that had the same issue: http://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/3228-update-to-fall-creators-update-x64-win-10-all-pools-gone/. Uninstalled DrivePool, rebooted, and reinstalled DrivePool and everything is back to working fine.

I have a newbie question that I'm failing to find through search. 
 
I have 8 drives in my pool. 2 of which I have low confidence in remaining lifetime. The other 6 I have high confidence in. 
 
Other than setting my redundant folders to "store on " 3 drives instead of 2, is there a way to set the balancer to only store redundant data on my 2 low confidence drives? And not redundant data for each other. IE, use the 2 drives to only store redundant data from the other 6 drives and not from each other?  

i started to see this constant error while trying to upload, and now my data is just on cache and not uploading
 
Cloud drive - google Drive is having trouble uploading data to Google Drive in a timely manner.

Hi, I'm a new user of DrivePool.

I have an external Fantec USB 3.0 hard drive enclosure box, with 4 HGST 4TB drives, all combined in a pool.

I use this pool as long term storage for my photography raw files, so I switch it on only when I need to retrieve an "old" picture or to store a pack of new processed photography sessions.

What I've observed is that every time I switch on the enclosure, the DrivePool process begins to measure the whole pool. It's not a very big pool so it doesn't take more than 10 minutes, but I would like to know id it DrivePool really needs to measure the whole pool each time.

I've tried to switch on the enclosure before the computer to discard the "I haven't found the pool on start", with same results.

My computer is running Windows 10, 1703 compilation and the DrivePool versión is 2.2.0.863 BETA.

Why are only US phones supported? And why doesnt it mention this in the manual before buying?

I'm doing some shuffling of hard drives between two systems, and want to remove two drives from my main file server. So I clicked "Remove" on the two drives I want to remove from DrivePool, and wait.
 
I noticed that the data from the first disk removed (Disk 3) was balanced between the remaining two in the pool (including the one that was queued for removal). So half the data from Disk 3 was moved to Disk 2, then after Disk 3 was finished the removal process, the "extra" data had to be moved from Disk 2 to Disk 1, along with the original data that was contained on Disk 2. This resulted in ~500 GB being moved twice, and a significant amount of extra time added to the removal process.
 
I did play around with some of the balancing settings, specifically with the Disk Space Equalizer and Drive Usage Limiter (tried unchecking Disk 2 to force files to be placed on Disk 1, but Disk 2 continued to be filled up.
 
I'm not sure if this is an bug, or I just don't know how to use the balancers properly? My pool is fine now, but I'm curious if I were to ever try this again, is there something I can do differently?

I spend almost 3hours every day trying to keep my CloudDrive+CloudPool setup alive.
 
For me its a hard job with crashe and unresponsive system and GUIs.
ReFS, NTFS, going virutal, going BETA, Clustersize, adding SSD, SSD Addon, cachesize... trying different providers, Dropbox, Azure, FTP, Google Drive, Local...
 
Nothing keeps CloudDrives working more then some hours.
 
But my latest problem is that im sleeping to long so CloudDrive removes my haddrives after dual bluescreens.
When my drives are getting removed i see:
 
[CloudDrives] Drive <ID> was previously unmountable. User is not retrying mount. Skipping.

10 drives is now 5 drives..

And now i need to force it....?
 
 
So... what to do know? Start all over again?
 
 
ok, this was not clouddrive related, i lost 2SSD´s with the last BSOD... sorry!
but can i copy the cache folder to a new drive if i csn recover the data?

After updating to the fall creators update all my pools are missing. I've restarted the PC 5 times. No luck. I've attempted to install Drive Pool v2.2.0.852. It fails to install. I've restarted the drive pool service numerous times. It doesn't fix the issue.
 
I'm stumped. Please help.

I deleted about 200GB but Clouddrive is still showing the google drive as full, and isn't updating, still shows as 500+GB if i log into Google drive.
 
i have tried cleanup, clearing cache and reauth (just in case)
 

The service starting message on my machine lasts AGES. I'm working with support trying to get it resolved but I'm assuming it's a bug and I suppose it's possible that this is just how long it takes for drive pool to start.
 
I have 7 drives in the pool with 17TB of space. It takes around 40 minutes after a reboot before I can use the stablebit drive pool software or access any files. 
 
Does anyone else experience this?
 
I'm using Server 2016 (I've just moved to a new host SSD drive), and i'm using the latest beta of drive pool. 

Any an all idea's are awesome so please if you have anything posted it up here :-D
 
Ok so my father and I are really needing to build a super server. As it sits he already has a server rack 48U Rack. It has two HP server's and a number of Sans Digital 8 Bay Enclosures. From what I gathered besides wanting to really get away from all the drive enclosures and have everything in one server. He has found that the HP controller card is causing the drives to randomly spin down because it thinks the temperature is too high. He's found on forums that they purposely do this if they are not HP hdd's. So were needing to build a new super server to replace this and make a house for the all the hdd's. As it sits he has 36 hdd's 3.5inch. So the new chassis we really do know this WILL NOT be cheap lol. So there is room for expansion were needing idea's for a 40 to 45 bay hdd server chassis. Also for all the hdd's some help on what kind of card we would need and how many. Because I understand that there are really no SATA cards  where I can slap two of them in and run 35-45 drives off them. Or I could be wrong and you all could help me out with this. I know the motherboard can be talked about later but I do know he want to run an Intel i5 on it. Depending on the room of the chassis and how many controller cards we'll need I'm sure we can gauge which motherboard and CPU would be perfect for this type of server. He's wanting to run a software raid through Windows Server but I'm trying to get him to use drivepool which it's perfect for my 48TB setup.

I'd be content pay for a program that doesn't use Homegroup and acts like Network Magic used to. = Easy Network setup..
I've spent too many hours transitioning from WHS 2011 to W10 update XXXXXXXXXXXXXX  with Networks.
 
Sadly Network Magic is not available for W10 and in my opinion simple networking is beast in W10.

I was just wondering if you guys have given any thought toward developing and offering a NAS-type product based on Windows Nano Server (assuming it works out with licensing)? You could include DrivePool, Scanner, CloutDrive, and any future products on it as the trial versions and sell licenses as you do now.
 
Of course, it would have to be remote GUI or have a web UI. This would also be a good platform for doing some media things with something like Emby. It would be really light-weight and easy to maintain, and it can be installed on a physical box or as a VM.

DrivePool's footprint ranged from 2-5GB before I added all of the pool's drives to NOD32 anti virus's exclude list.  At least I'm pretty sure that's what fixed it.
 
Attached is a poolmon screenshot showing a few pools owned by covefs.sys (I think...please correct me if I'm wrong) at or near the top of the list, totaling over 4GB.
 
I wish I didn't have to disable antivirus for those drives, so would love any information from the developers about the cause of this problem or any other way I can mitigate it.

Say I have several disks in my pool and I want to reserve extra space for "other" data on one or more individual disks.  That's to say, I don't want Disk x to use more than a certain percentage or byte threshold to store pool data.  Is there a way to do this short of splitting the drive into multiple partitions?

Thanks for an absolutely wonderful product.  I was just wondering, Comcast limits my data usage to 1 TiB per month (at $10 per 50GiB beyond that).  Since many cloud providers do not allow incremental chunk updates (like what I'm using, Box), then depending on the write workload, CD has to download chunks, change them, and re-upload them.  While the "To Upload" size measurement is accurate, the tooltip that gives an estimate of how long it will take to drain the upload queue is probably off by quite a bit, especially if one is changing files frequently.  Further, the total bandwidth used over a given period of time is not really reflected anywhere.  There are tools that allow me to measure (out-of-band) all CD traffic but it would be nice to know how much data was actually read/written in order to empty the upload queue, or for that matter, to do any set of operations.  This would help with my bandwidth management (knowing if I need to limit upload/download speed in CD at a given point in the month, or ideally, doing it automatically when I reach a certain threshold).  I guess this is a request for enhancement but I'm not sure how many other people have a similar need.

I have a Norco 4u 16 bay sas case. I was wondering how often you need to open it up and blow out the dust from the fans and hard drives. I just got this case last February and was wondering. I haven't cleaned mine so it might be dirty dirty.

That depends on what you're doing.  For the most part, that *should* be good enough. But I'm a bit of a perfectionist... and I'd rather have both running at full x16. But that's entirely dependant on the chipset/mainboard you're using.

Hi all, I wanted to know if there is a proper way to do this. If I wanted to move an entire pool (all drives) from one computer to another, are there any precautions to take? Will DrivePool on the new system recognize that this is a pool? Thanks.
