You may need to reset the settings:

I have the latest version of Stablebit on two different computers. When I try to start Stablebit I get a message "Connecting to Service [xx minutes]" along with a progress bar which shows movement but nothing ever happens, the time counter just keeps going up, for hours if I let it. This happens on both computers so I assume is not a local computer-related problem. Has anyone else had this problem?

No, I'm still a way aways from getting the Sabrent (if I get it at all).  Your situation sounds really different, though.  You're running a Sonnet what?  Are you using an external enclosure of some sort?

So i have been searching for awhile and cannot find a good solution. So looking to see if anyone else can help think "outside the box".
I currently have one 45 drive case that i am almost done filling. I am about to acquire a second 45 drive case and looking to expand DrivePool into that. What i am trying to figure out is how to combine the two servers into one to present as one file share for my network. I am not a fan of the "turn it into a drive enclosure" idea as i think it presents to many drives for one server to handle. Scanner already takes forever to scan the 45 drives in the one case for it to potentially be scanning 90 drives is not a thought i like. My hope was to use StableBit on each server to handle that processing and then maybe getting a "head" server to then combine the servers together in some way. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

I understand what you want to do, but I don't have the answer with my limited knowledge using home based meida servers. What OS are you running? There may be some solution in higher priced enterprise based servers, but I would not know how to do it with DrivePool. I know DrivePool can work with sub-pools, but I think they have to be on the same server. Maybe not. I hope somebody can give you more direction.
BTW, a 45 drive case?! I would be interested in what you use. I currently have 19 USB HDDs (80+ TBs) on my DrivePool, but I have problems loading all those drives on a reboot. I had to buy USB power hubs that have individual on/off switches for each port. When I reboot my server, I first have to turn off all my USB drives, then when the server is up and running, I have to turn on each drive, one by one, waiting maybe 30 seconds for each USB drive to be recognized by the OS before I go on to the next drive. If I could dump all those HDDs into one case and bypass my current USB problems, that would be great. If you can, let me know what you use so I can check it out.

    1. Manually move all files to the outside of the poolpart.xxx folder on the bad disk so that drivepool can't see them any more.
    2. Remove the old disk from DrivePool (it will be instantly complete since the poolpart folder is empty).
    3. Insert new disk (new different PoolPart.xxx is created).
    4. Manually copy the files from the old disk to the new poolpart folder on the new disk.
I found out by doing this i didn't get BSOD compared to moving the disk using DP
Above is why i think the BSOD is related to drivepool, what i'm worried about if one my drives go bad then it would just throw random BSOD and screw up my OS

Check your power connections make sure all the pins are intact I had a similar problem when 1 of my connections on a lead was faulty

I would also power it all down and give it all a good clean sometimes connections can get a little grubby and don't always make a sound connection.

It is very rare for leads to become faulty once a sound connection has been made unless they get bent or knocked by accident there cheap enough to replace so its worth trying

I am having some very sporadic write speeds to the drivepool, it will peak at 16MB/s, go as low as 0MB/s, completely stopping, and finally bouncing between 400KB/s to 1.5MB/s, However, when I write a file from the drivepool to any computer on my network the transfer is fine, between 60MB/s to 90MB/s.  Write speeds to a folder on a non-pool disk is also between between 60MB/s to 90MB/s.

I am running StableBit.DrivePool_1.3.3.7563_Release.and the pool is showing 100%. My drivepool is on a frankenbuild WHS 2011.  All of my clients are running Windows 8.  Pinging from my clients to my server is <1ms.

I also tried using Robocopy or Teracopy but neither didn't help.  I also performed the following optimization tasks obtained from wegotserved.com:

    For the NIC:
Flow control: on (client and server)
"checksum" or "Offload": Off (client and server)
jumbo frames: off or default (client or server)
run "netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=highlyrestricted" in an elevated console (command prompt) on *all* computers (Vista/Win7/Server 2008(R2)/WHS2011/SBS2011e)

    Services/programs:
Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service: Disabled/manual
Windows Search Service: Disabled (and probably a good idea to move it to another drive anyhow, or at least d:\)
Install the "Remote Differential Compression" feature on the server, or uninstall it from all Win7/WHS2011 computers

    Misc:
Run chkdsk on all the disks. Full is best, but just to make sure
    Defrag.

Is there anything that I can do to remedy this?
