  1. I jus Server 2022 doesn't even see it and mark it as unknown. I just ordered: StarTech.com 2 Port SATA 6 Gbps PCI Express eSATA Controller Card - Storage Controller - 2 Channel - eSATA 6Gb/s - 6 Gbit/s - PCIe - PEXESAT32 and StarTech.com PCIe USB 3.1 Card - 2x USB C 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps) - PCIe Gen 3 x4 - ASM3142 Chipset - USB Type C PCI Express Card (PEXUSB312C3) just in case I will go the USB Type C route. However, I am really hoping that the new eSATA controller work. Does anyone here have any experience with StarTech eSATA?
  2. Yes I am running 2 Mobius 5 Bay Enclosures connected to the Tempo Sata Pro 6Gb 4-port, port multiplier. It worked great on my old Windows Server 2016 but I recall I had to jump through some hoops to get it working but I can't remember the steps. It is not working at all on my Windows Server 2022. It is very frustrating because my Server 2016 backup is corrupted, so I am all in on Server 2022.
  3. Did you set this up? I am having all kinds of issues with my Sonnet Tempo Sata PCIe card. I just upgraded to Windows Server 2022 and it is only seeing 2 of my 10 drives, 1 from each 5 bay tower. I need a replacement solution asap.
  4. Which service do I shutdown?
  5. I am having the same problem removing a drive. I am running it on Server 2016 OS. It blue screens about 45% through the removal process. I have a new drive that I want to replace it with. I wonder if I could copy the files from the existing drive to the new drive and swap them. Will that work?
  6. Awesome, I was leaving out the "S" in my search
  7. Oh ok, which esata chipset is better than sil? I am about to order a new pcie card now.
  8. All Fixed! Thanks Christopher for your time!
  9. it seems like it is stuck on stopping services...
  10. I scheduled a time for tonight between 9pm cst and 11pm cst.
  11. Unfortunately no joy. I get the following error when I try to uninstall: I get the following when I try to initiate a repair:
  12. Yes, I rebooted. Thanks, I will give it a go once I get home!
  13. I am having trouble uninstalling Drivepool 1.3.6.7585 from WHS 2011 in order to upgrade to Drivepool 2.1.1.561. I removed it from addin but I cannot uninstall from the control panel uninstaller. When trying to install Drivepool 2.1.1.561 I get the following error: Setup Failed... When I go to control panel + uninstall I get the following error: The installed product does not match the installation source(s):..... I also tried re-installing Drivepool 1.3.6.7585 but I get the following error: Is there a way to completely remove 1.3.6.7585 by using the registry? I am in need of a solution as my server is completely useless without drive pool. Please help!
  14. I removed a fairly new 2TB Western Digital WD20EADS from my pool because scanner reported that it was damaged but when I ran WD's DLGDIAG Extended test everything was fine. I re-installed the drive back into the pool and nothing appears to be wrong. Any explanation for this?
  15. Ok, I finally got around to finishing my troubleshooting of my setup and it turned out to be my rocketraid 2314 card. Luckily I had a backup Addonics (ADS3GX4R5-E), the bad news is that it has a PCI bus, which I was all out of. I had to drive a country mile to microcenter to pick up a PCIe1X usb 4 port card, so I could swap some cards around. My Pool is re duplicating now, around 40% but all looks good so far. Thanks everyone for their help and suggestions.
  16. I didn't a chance to try the cable, due to not wanting to screw with wire-ties when I got home last night; cable management is good but not when trying to diagnose a problem. Wow Drashna you are my hero you should do a setup guide at wegotserved for your Norco 4220.
  17. You must live in the midwest or Arizona, lol. I cannot wait to get home, so do you agree it is not likely one port on either the sata card or 8 bay case?
  18. Thanks for the response. Yea, I checked the one cable but I didn't notice any abnormalities but I am not a Sata cable expert. Grubby? How can a cable that is inserted get grubby? It is not like it's outside or near the ocean. My server and cases are in a rack and don't suffer from bumping or moving in general.
  19. Ok, I don't think it is a problem with the software. I have 12 HDDs spread out over two sans digital 8 bay cases and oddly enough one side (4 bays) is not working now (the case lights are on but WHS2011 does not detect them nor does the raid card bios during the boot process). I have tested the drives by pulling each one out and running dianostic tools on each drive and all passed. Next I moved 4 drives to the 4 empty slots and WHS2011 and the raid card bios recognized all 12 drives. IMO, this points to either the sata cable, one of the raid card ports, or one of the ports on the case is bad. I will get a cable today and rule it out. My questions are how often from personal experience does external sata cabling go bad? How likely for only one port of a raid card or one port of an enclosure to go bad?
