Did anyone manage to add it by now?
 
 

I'm planning to start pooling all my old disks and turning on duplication, moving on from SnapRAID so I can more easily just add disks of any size to the pool.  Anyway, I'm banking on basically halving the capacity of all my disks to determine usable capacity, but I vaguely understand that it's not that simple.  FWIW, I'm planning to pool 3, 3, 3, and 5TB drives.
 
I'd also like to be able to see the "usable" capacity of the pool instead of the raw capacity when using duplication.  i.e., if I have 14TB of raw disk and deduplication is set for the whole pool, can it show me 7TB of usable space?

Ive got a weird problem:
 
System: i5-6500, 16 GB, 16 HDD, 4 SSD, 
 
Pool config: All harddisks, 2x SSD's configured for caching. (approx 30 TB capacity)
 
This morning i had to remove one of the Caching SSD's. I removed it from the drivepool and when it was removed i shut down the system and detached the SSD from the system. . 
 
When i booted my system, my drivepool was gone.

But still No drivepool. 
 
At the moment, i can see all my drives, thats it. See below.
 
- I can't create a new pool
- All my drives are markted as non pooled, when i click add, i get the  error message below.
- Tried both latest stable and BETA versions of the software, deleting content of the the C:\programdata\Stablbit drivepool folder, between removal and installing..
 
Adding the SSD to the pool again is not an option at this momend a friend is lending it. 
 
What do i do to fix this?

We've never met but you've been helping me for over 10 years, starting back in the HP EX470 days where your name in a forum thread represented a glimmer of hope.  You're also the reason I went with Drivepool and most recently, gave Scanner a chance.  I get how products are developed, but Scanner just seems like a different piece of software from a different company.  Drivepool is so clean and simple to use and Scanner is, well, not (IMHO).  
 
I installed it the other day and cannot get past this error for my NVMe Samsung Evo 960. I installed the drive months ago when it came out and it has not really given me any issues (besides an offset alignment issue using the Samsung cloning software which I fixed with a reformat and clean install). I've been using HD tune, Samsung Magician, etc., but I cannot get rid of this error code in Scanner. I read this post and tried what you suggested to no avail.

The "damaged" file has changed since the other day when I scanned the drive. Do I really have an issue and if so, what? It just doesn't seem right. I really want to stay away from a reformat as the motherboard doesn't allow Windows Server installs and it was kind of a pain to get up and running.

Is there a way to connect CloudDrive to multiple OneDrive accounts at the same time?

Hello! I have been using DP for almost a month now and absolutely love it...  HOWEVER...
 
I have 65 TB pooled from 16 drives. Each time I go into explorer (I have been using xyplorer for 10 years and this wont even change) and click on a folder, I must wait about 30 seconds to load the directory listings with (Not Responding) on top. Same thing when I want to save a file from a program. I have torrents seeding from all 16 HDD's and sometimes utorrent times out when adding new torrents. 
 
So my question, is there an option to be able to properly cache all the directory listings so it wont need to do it most times I try to access it?

After the most recent update I now get this warning, is this an issue or is there anything I need to do?  I have almost 15tb stored and want to ensure I wont have an issue with it.

I upgraded to the beta DrivePool per your recommendation Drashna and now I cannot get the SSD Optimizer settings to stick, so my SSD is now just being used as any other disk. I've uninstalled, and reinstalled (the optimizer plugin), with reboots between.
 
I can make a change and click Save successfully exactly one time per running the DrivePool UI.  Subsequent attempts without restarting the app result in missing object reference errors.

Doncha just luv it?!

I was wondering if this is a blip or not, the drives are installed in my server 2012 r2 essentials and have never given me any issues ,
I am not 100% sure but i am guessing it is to do with the samsung magician software as i had previously had rapid mode enabled. however it appears to be glitchy with the new version on this system. I am guessing that this would explain the 26%  .

Other tools , perfect disk server's smart reporting says all is fine  and samsung's magicians tools report all is well too.

I use stablebit clouddrive a un Dedicated server to store backups,movies and pictures. up until now everyting was working fine and i have uploaded arround 12 TB of data on a ReFS  drive.
Yesterday, for an unknown reason my server became un reachable so i had to force a reboot on it. ifter that reboot it became impossible to open de drive.

i was restarting my server and now stablebit says it needs to recover my drives.
 

 
This are 3 drives where every drive have about 2tb of data.
Cache locally is about 50gb for every drive.
How long will it take to recover my drives with this hardware:
xeon cpu 4x2,4ghz 8 threads
2x2 tb hdd
32 gbit ram
1gbit full duplex

I have 4 identical drives, each 3TB, pooled under Drivepool on Windows 10. All pool files are duplicated.
 
There is a "stuck" nested folder structure which is duplicated on two of the drives, and which appears in the Drivepool virtual disk directory (Drive I:, in my case.). The stuck folders cannot be deleted under Windows or within the DrivePool virtual disk.
 
The folder structure is 10 levels deep culminating in "shellext ".  In other words "M:\fixme\T2\T3\T4\....T9\shellext ". I cannot recall how I managed to create this originally, but after shortening all the subfolder names and trying every Windows trick on the Internet, I was unsuccessful at deleting it. There is a space appended to "shellext " that is presumably preventing deletion, and all attempts to rename this file/folder have failed.
 
The one trick that worked was booting a live Linux disk and deleting the duplicated structures on disks M: and J: where I found them. However, after rebooting to Windows, the deleted items are restored after a period of time, and I'm back where I started. When I try to delete the folders directly or in DrivePool, the error message is (and always has been) "Could not find this item."
 
Is DrivePool contributing to this problem, or causing the restoration of the deleted folder structure?  Any ideas on how to fix? The problem isn't fatal, but it is an annoyance.

I need to remove a drive from my drivepool. I know that I am supposed to just click remove and let the balancer handle unloading the data but it is soo slow. So instead of doing that I changed the settings so that the drive-to-be-removed would not be used for Dupicated or Unduplicated data. This is causing the balancer again to handle the unloading of the data and rebalancing on to the remaining two drives in the drivepool. The problem is that this seems to be even slower! I'm at the point where I want to just do a standard "Move" of files from one disk to another. Will doing that mess everything up?

Just bought and installed DrivePool right now and added 4 drives; 1 was nearly fully and the others are empty. 
 
Im trying to access the new drivepool letter it says it has assigned it (I:) but I cannot access it.

Pool file duplication has be turned on (x2). I plan to change it to "folder" duplication for certain ones x2 and critical ones x4.

Yes its essentials - had it happen a few times yesterday when creating directories on a shared drive via windows explorer
 
that shared drive is under server folders not shared folders

Just curious, has anyone had any success with the FTP / SFTP provider? It seems like you could probably get away with a cheap webhost + ftp access for less than what Amazon / Azure would charge for storage.

I used to make a file comparison of my data with FreeFileSync (i make backups just mirroring needed data to NAS). I was forced to do so because sometimes got corrupted photos (RAW). It is rare, the drives are ok (of couse they have some degradation, but will live another 5years, at least) but as far as there are a lot of files and their number constantly grows - the chance of corruption raises also. The problem was that I learn about corrupted file only when i try to export photo from Lightroom. I look for the photo in the backup .... ooops it is corrupted too, because bad copy replaced good one during last syncing. So now i run bitwise comparison before syncing.
 
So the problem is that duplicated data is spread among several disks and i can't compare them with FreeFileSync or another tool. Is would be very good to implement some kind of bitwise comparison (on a folder level) to be able to find such corrupted duplicates.

I have 17 drives in the pool totaling 33.1 TB
I have a Crucial MX100 256 Gig as a work drive
And I have a Blu-Ray drive hooked up.
 
I have noticed that whenever I reboot the machine DrivePool just about every time needs to remeasure the pool. Of course after it is done it wants to recheck duplication.
 
Is there anyway to fix this? I ran DrivePool for a couple of years on my old server & it never did this unless I changed the ports where the hard drives were hooked up to. I'm just wondering if the sas card isn't recognizing the drives in the same order each time.
 
Any help would be appreciated.

I signed up for Google Cloud Drive then tried to connect in StableBit Cloud Drive, it says 'Approved' after the Google auth, asks me for a connection name, I tell it a connection name, and then the feedback shows only the cryptic message 'Security Error'.  Any one know what is going wrong?

So I thought when I detached a drive last week I accidentally hit destroy instead of detach and wrote it off as my own stupidity.
 
I just detached another drive today and CD destroyed it. I lost 40 TBs of data. DO NOT detach your cloud drive until they figure this out.
 
I am extremely pissed to say the least. I have lost two drives now in the past 7 days, some with data I did not have backed up in another place.
 
This is extremely unacceptable and I warn all of you of putting anything worth your time on these drives until they make this software more reliable.
 
I guess the software is listed as beta, so my own fault for thinking it wouldn't ruin a drive in one fell swoop.
 
Data actually isn't gone but the files they wrote to have no previous versions so it looks like I cannot recover.

I'm currently researching into the feasibility of using my old tower PC for home server duty.  Knowing that there are a lot of ways to currently do that (Linux, FreeNAS, etc etc), I would rather try it my preferred way - which is running a copy of Windows 10 Pro with DrivePool and Scanner.

First off, the hardware (prepare to cringe!)
AMD Phenom II x3 710 ASUS M4A780 uATX w/ Realtek GbE on board 4GB DDR2-800, 2 open slots. (ASUS board is ECC compatible) Corsair Force 120GB SSD for boot 2x WD Black 1TB to start off with OCZ ModXstream 600W power supply Main goals for this rig are:
Plex File Sharing within home iTunes Server Local backup for 1-2 PCs & 2 iPhones' worth of photos BackBlaze to backup The main reason I want to stick with Windows since that's what I'm most familiar with.  I plan on using RDP on Win10 Pro to manage the machine headless from my laptop.  While not the most power efficient, I do not plan to have it up 24/7 - more like "as needed, when needed" for a few hours at a time.  After burning my brain out with RAID-this, along with RAID-that...I don't really want anything to do with RAID on this which is why DrivePool is perfect.

I don't think it's too far-fetched of an idea, but I've never really done anything like this before.  What do you folks think?

Today i created a drive and forgot to change the label. So i detached and reattached with a new label - however after the reattach the old name stuck on the drive, but the new one shows in the stablebit ui
 
Might be a bug or just bad luck :-D
