  1. No problem! I figured I would share since it had such an improvement in speed! I am happy it worked for you!!
  2. Follow up 2 - I did a test and changed the chunk size when initially creating the drive from 10 mb to the max 20 mb. This has drastically increased my speed to the max of my connection. I think what is happening is that google takes some time to build up the speed (Maybe load balancing on their side of things). So the bigger the file to download, the more time it has to get up to max speed per thread. This uses more bandwidth but it seems much faster. Now to migrate my old drive to the new one.....
  3. Follow up - I managed to get it up to 70mbps by changing the Prefetch trigger to 1mb, Prefetch forward to 20mb, and prefetch time windows to 20 seconds. Is there a better setting that I could be using to boost the speed some more?
  4. I have noticed that my cloud drive hosted with google has been really slow compared to when I switched from a previous version to the latest beta. I am talking going from 90mbps with spikes to 150mbps (my connection speed). Now I am unable to upload past 10-20mbps or read at past 10-20mbps. I used to stream family videos from my cloud drive in 1080p with minimal buffer. Now I can only get it to play for 1-3 seconds without buffering/ messing up. I don't know what has been happening on the back end of the program, but something has changed for the worse. I noticed that others are reporting the same things and it is blamed on the hardware that they are running. I did an experiment using a samsung ssd drive, a core i7 6 core machine with 32gigs of ram + the asus 3100 router hardlined into my fiberline. I could not reach above 10-20mbps again. This means that something software wise is off or google changed something. Either way, I highly doubt its my connection, or my hardware knowing the above info. I am able to upload at my full connection speed to my google drive outside of cloud drive. I hope that you guys take a serious look at 777 and see what is happening, because it is unusable. I wish I would have not upgraded from my previous version. as a side note - I did change from several api pools that you had setup - it still had no effect.
  5. I have noticed the same issue. I used to jump between 50mbps-150mbps (150/150 is my connection). Now I am consistently under 50mbps. It occasionally jumps to 70 but jumps right back down. It is the latest beta 777 + I have reauthorized several times. This is after uploading 100 gbs of data. After an hour it slows to 20mbps max. This is with no other things running on my network.
  6. Thank you for posting this! I am one of the people who had this issue and was rescued by the support team. All my files are back up and restored. Hopefully this is just an isolated incident. =]
  7. I am able to use a proxy but that really isn't the main issue. I like to keep my stuff in VM since security wise - it is isolated from my main system. Especially when I am trying to protect my main files. Even standard copying doesn't seem to work from the vm to outside of the vm. Maybe in the future this can be looked at. I'm not really sure what is going wrong.
  8. As it says above. I Installed latest beta, connection is there but no drives are in the list?! Data is still in cloud as my google drive reports I am still using the data I had before. All 4 drives were disconnected properly before installing. How do I get my drives back?! This is really bad if I can't update without loosing all the settings for where the drives are located. Im on 1.0.0.777 right now.
  9. I have been running into an issue using cloud drive and Google Drive. (I'm sure this apples to all services though). Scenario - I have 300 gb of data on my home network share that I am backing up. My local network is able to send the files via copy and paste at a total of 50 megabytes per second. My Internet is able to upload at 150mbps. (around 18 megabytes per second) The laptop machine that has cloud drive installed only has 30gb free of local storage (ssd drive that is small). So as a result the "to upload" part of cloud drive fills up fast until I run out of space and it throttles until it can upload the files to Google Drive and frees up more space to copy more to my hard drive. I have been using a 3rd party copy manager to copy and paste because of this issue (it has a pause button). As a result I have to babysit my transfer until it finishes and pause it until the "upload" has transfered enough to drive to clear space. This is by no means a hands off process. Solution- Can you implement a way to Throttle the speed of the copy and paste. So for example I know my Internet can upload 18 megabytes per second, and I set that the max speed my copy and paste function can copy at is less that 18 megabytes. This also would give cloud drive an estimate time for completion because windows would estimate the time on the copy and paste window. It would be the equivalent of using a slower harddrive. The second issue I have hit is that I use VMware to run a copy of Windows. The vm is VPN protected because my isp frowns on torrents regardless of legality. I do a lot of work with windows and I am trying to archive all versions of Windows isos so that I have them for my clients when needed. Needless to say if I run cloud drive in the vm, it is slow slow slow, because my VPN is not as fast as my connection. I tried linking a shared folder (the cloud drive "harddrive") into VMware so it shows up as a folder in the vm. When I try running the torrent via utorrent 2.2.1, it comes up with an access denied/unauthorized error for the shared folder. I'm not sure what is going on with this. The goal is to download in the vm machine with a VPN, and it saves to the shared folder that is outside of the vm. That shared folder is the cloud drive which would upload the files straight to the cloud drive outside of the VPN/vm. How can I fix this problem? Just an FYI, if I use this without any vm and set the cloud drive as my download location from utorrent, this works fine. But once again I am limited by my VPN speeds to upload to cloud drive. Thanks!
  10. I agree with "Sausages". I have been testing the system and it works well. I know without encryption keys, I am toast anyway. I just want to ensure that I completely understand how the system works to make sure my data stays uncorrupted. How much of a cache it too much to loose. Obviously best case scenario, I complete uploads to the drive, but I am interested in worse case scenario as this is a data backup solution. Thanks for the previous reply!
  11. I am really liking Stablebit CloudDrive with google drive so far (Full drive encryption). I have one main issue that I do not have the answer for. Lets say that my computer bites the dust. All I have left are the cloud drive files stored on my google drive. Is there anyway to recover from that type of situation. Any way to recover files locally? This answer will help me confidently buy the software. Having used encryption systems in the past, I would like to know what are the plan b's built into this software. Thanks!
