  1. I recurring would like/need to print the list of drives incl their bays, names and/or serialnumbers to identify the drives much easier when the server is shut down. If DrivePool would be linked and the pools would be shown, too, would be a big help, too. Or an additional print output from DrivePool with a list of pools and belonging drives. Thanks - we really like your tools. Obvioulsy, as we're using all of them
  2. +1 from here I would like to add the option to pause/restart specific drives from this view. And that one of my problems on top of the missing overwiev is, that the drive name length isn't sufficient for me. I have to switch between DrivePool and CloudDrive to be sure which pool I'm in for each drive. And which provider. Too much information for the name. (and CloudDrive is sometimes messing up the names - mixing or duplicate). It would be easier if CloudDrive would be linked to DrivePool and show this information.
  3. Hi Choruptian, thanks for your time. That's interesting especially because your internet connection is similar to mine. I already faced problems with the cache so I'll give your solution a try. Do you use Plex with CloudDrive? How large are your drives? Did you ever use checkdisk on them? Do you use DrivePool? Zero issues sounds great ... I wish I will get to that very soon. I'm on 1.0.0.784, too, and have 3 older drives an 3 newly created - all sized between 2 and 4 TB,, and nothing seems to work. Auto-re-attching after reboot works only after attaching one drive manually. The others follow then. One drive was suddenly damaged, another vanished short after (I hope, it will appear after rebooting, but I have to wait with that), errors, I just don't understand what DrivePool is doing or not and what's its problem with the Pool Organisation; Plex doesn't stream more than a few seconds. Maybe I did too much action at once by uploading into two Pools and it's better to work with one drive at a time (however I manage to do this while using DrivePool). I will wait a bit. If it's not getting better, I will try to complete uninstall and start over new. Zero-issue reports with bandwidth similar to mine and not only with 600/400 connections or somewhat fantastic keeps me going.
  4. Hi there, I'm picking up my testing after 10 month again. I'm using Google Drive. The whole thing with CloudDrive, chunks, I/O, throttling etc is wide wide wide over my head (the reason I trew it the towel last time) and I have trouble to track which tipps are out-dated by newer beta-versions. It's all very confusing. So - before I'm going to upload to my old drives or create new ones: are there a kind of best-practice-presets for different configurations (cloud provider, internetspeed, how much space can be offered for cache ...)? or "presets" for special purposes (i.e. Plex with many bigger files or music/photos or documents)? In which cases should I alter the default settings while creating the drive (chunk-size) at all? When should I play around with the up/download-threads? Tipps for sound practices are highly appreciated!
  5. Hi there I recognized too late, that the drive is nearly full. When trying to resize there's an error (see attached screenshot). I restarted everything,re-authorized and installed the latest Beta. I'm trying for two days now. We are using Google Drive. I have to admit that the cache-drive ran full, too, for some time. But there is now still about 130GB free after freeing some space. I suspected it's because there is still data to upload, so I deleted some of the folders which I knew that they have been copied freshly. But I'm not able to delete everything that's probably still uploading because I'm not able to identify these files. What else can I do?
  6. Thank you, Christopher, we are using Google Drive. Unfortunately, I have no idea about REST API - again a thing beyond my grasp Normal web traffic isn't prioritised by our router/QoS. Traffic from the Google Drive Desktop App likewise. In fact I never have seen priority upload traffic before but for voice over IP in the router GUI. I don't want to throttle in this case - CloudDrive should be allowed to use free bandwidth but not to use it exclusively because the router thinks it's VIP-trafiic. . Is there no chance to get a port or port range and the protocol (TCP/UDP)? Then I could try if I can override the ISP's settings with a custom QoS rule and set the priority down. I'm aware that this is a very special problem. Sorry for any inconvenience
  7. Hi there, we have a router that's pre-configured by our ISP and it comes with invisible QoS-settings we can't see or change (i.e. for streaming or IP-telephone). CloudDrive uses a port or protocol that's prioritised - we can see it on the traffic-monitor. Not every uploading activity from CloudDrive is prioritised traffic, it's a mix so I suspect CloudDrive to use multiple ports. In fact our internet collapses when CloudDrive is uploading. Would you mind to tell which ports/protocols CloudDrive uses? So we could try to talk with our ISP. Thanks
  8. Sorry for not replying, I was on the fly. The following is just for your information. I don't need help at this moment. Obviously CloudDrive deleted the folder bei itself while its first try; it was vanished. So I didn't have the choice. The last drive I didn't touch was mounted automatically after some hours. Maybe I just should have waited. The drive with a lot ongoing upload was messed up und unreadable first, but Checkdisk managed to repair it and make it accessible somehow. I'm uploading photos, and most of them were listed with the correct size and date on the drive, but were "empty". The only way I figured out to identify this files was a MD5 comparison with our sync/backup-tool. I hope it's going to be okay now. Please let me know if you are interested in the log files for your concern.
  9. Hi, I just updated from StableBit.CloudDrive_1.0.0.463_x64_BETA to StableBit.CloudDrive_1.0.0.470_x64_BETA and ran into this problem. All three (Google) drives aren't attached anymore. Maybe I should mention that CloudDrive crashed before doing this - it froze after I changed the upload threads while saving/closing the settingswindow and didn't come back to life. The forced attach isn't working, it's refused because the directory for the local cache already exists. I still had files uploading, so I'm not quit sure if I just can delete this folder - but is there any other option?
  10. Thank you, Christopher. That helps a lot. Thanks for the links, too. To retype is nonsense of course - sorry for leaving out the forum search. I was so focused on my testing that it completely hopped out of my mind what normally would be my first step. I'm obviously a bit puzzled. joss
  11. Hi, Thank you soooo much for supporting Google Drive now and the fast progress! Since Bitcasa's change of mood we were looking for exactly a tool like CloudDrive, then found it here but weren't able to use it until now. And as we are using Drivepool and your Scanner for years now, we are very, very happy to see this project in your hands, because you always deliver well-thought-out and stable stuff. I only hope, you are not going to be bought by one of the big ones . Although I don't understand everything that's discussed here (i.e. what the increased partial reads are for - and why we would have to start over new then ... over my head in some cases ), and we do not have such are great bandwidth, I've been testing a bit using the default settings and I'm highly satisfied - YEAH! The speed is a bit erratic and I/O-errors are popping up frequently but CloudDrive manages to upload things anyway. Perfect! I have some questions - not 100% Google-Drive-related, but I hope it's ok to place it here: Are there plans (or is there already a way) to pause the upload; either every upload activity or for a specific drive (so I could set one drive to priority)? Is there a way to throttle the upload? Maybe scheduled? (our son is angry with us using all bandwidth )We are trying to use Plex with CloudDrive. It's working pretty well so far. But of course to fast-forward is not covered by the prefetched data so it takes a while to jump to a specific position in a video. Do you have any suggestion i.e. for the cache or prefetching settings to optimize this? Maybe different relating to the size (TV-Shows oder movies)?I'm a bit concerned about data corruption, not of single chunks or files, but of some of the metadata or so, CloudDrive needs to mount and recognize the drive. We are using duplicati and one day an essential file was obviously missing or corrupted, so duplicati wasn't able to list anything or repair it and the whole backupset was lost for us. The weeks of uploading, too. And as far as I know there is no option to use the content files somehow - and I assume this isn't different with CloudDrive, right? Do you have redundancy or something like that? Is it possible for me to backup this data? Google doesn't make it easy to replace files, because of their ID-based structure - just putting the same file with the same name in the same place doesn't mean, Google or a tool like duplicati (and CloudDrive?) recognizes it. Would it be wiser to build several smaller drives and use Drivepool additionally than creating one big one? What would you suggest? How are the experiences with Google Drive (for work)? How big are the drives you created? (Of course we have several backups - but because of the limited bandwidth and the fact that we have plans to let Google/CloudDrive be part of our backup-strategy I would like to fathom and minimize the risks.)And a last one: what about the verifying - is it actually working with the 10MB-chunks now? Or even bigger ones? I didn't get it. Sorry. Thanks joss
  12. yes, please! We bought a licence from you immediately after release and are waiting for Google Drive (for work) support since then. (and for Amazon Cloud Drive Unlimited arriving in Europe - but as it's not that reliable that's maybe not the best solution). In fact Google gives you >5TB even with one user ... pssst.
