    metabrowser

It's just so weird that simply renaming a folder isn't working however metabrowser does it... but i can rename the folder with no problems. and that someone first flagged this two years ago

    metabrowser

Nice suggestion, but I have over 2000 movies and wanted to change the naming convention.... and i dont have a 50TB temp drive i can move everything to just to automatically rename 2,000 folders.
  3. An old thread i know, but i thought i'd share that i got a similar Lian Li case, the A76X. it also has a 12 bay tower at the front; so i e-mailed lian li and they sold me another 12 bay tower , and i think the end result speaks for itself: the right hand tower is all 4TB drives, the left hand tower is all 6TB drives. There's also a 3 bay dock in the 2 x 5.25 bays at the front which holds three non-pooled system drives; and an SDD you can see resting on top of the left hand tower and a very small tower of three 8TB drives resting on top of the PSU. you don't appreciate how heavy a hard disk is until you try to move a machine holding 30 of them! I actually ran out of room (as you can see) so now i've got a D-8000 and i'll be able to easily put 41 3.5" drives in that
  4. Hi, Just to update you, I got the 16 port LSI card, and it was great. but then i spotted a 24 port 3ware card (LSI9650SE-24M8) on ebay for a third of the price, so i grabbed that instead. It supports just passing through JBOD's so the drives all stay nice and AHCI compatible
  5. I would be very interested in a product called "Stablebit Filesafe" !
  6. Hi, I have 28 drives in my pool. I've enabled duplication for the first 50TB of my files, and it is duplicating away. However duplication seems to be single threaded, for want of a better description. Its only working on on file at a time. I can see in stablebit scanner that its reading from one disk and writing to another. But that leaves the other 26 drives doing nothing. Is there a way to change this? Since they all also have lots of un-duplicated files on them, they could be copying to/from each other too? i.e. files could be simultaneously duplicated form disk 1 to disk 2 ; and from disk 3 to disk 4 and from disk 5 to disk 6; all at the same time. at this rate its going to take a VERY long time to copy 50Tb of data one file at a time with 26 of my drives idle at any given time. metabrowser

Hi, Actually i have this exact issue from the old forum from two years ago: http://forum.covecube.com/discussion/1170/metabrowser-stablebit- The program metabrowser is quite popular for managing movie collections. it can download cover art and trailers and rename the files and folders. All my movies live on my drive pool. If i process a movie with metabrowser, it an create the new files, jpg, nfo, etc. it can also rename them to the correct name.. i.e. "Terminator 1999 (DVD).mkv" But then it tries to rename the folder from whatever the current folder name is; to match the movie naming i.e. "Terminator 1999 (DVD)" at which point it fails to rename the folder, because "a folder with that name already exists". when it clearly does not. Any advice? (if you want to try and replicate the issue / see if metabrowser is re-naming folders in some non-standard way, there is a free trial available here: http://themetabrowser.com/projects/metabrowser-v2/wiki/Trial) Thanks in advance and do let me know if you need any further info! Chris PS i should have mentioned, i can manually use explorer to just go and re-name the folder, and that works ok, but with a lot of movies that's a very slow way to do things when i own a program that automates it!
  8. Hi Guys, I'm looking for a high port count HBA. I dont want a RAID one, i want one which is very boring AHCI so i can just transplant the drive to a different controller if i need to. Any recommendations for one which works well with stablebit scanner? i.e. that i can get the temps and serial numbers from too (i have 20 drives, but i do have several slots, so any 8-16 port cards are fine) I was surprised i coudlnt find a list of recommended cards anywhere (or was i looking in the wrong place?) Thanks Chris
