  1. would it be possible to use to ACD-CD format on a local drive? I noticed it's storing stuff differently than the local or file share formats - I have other file sync applications that can do fast transfers, so I was hoping to maybe use those for the actual uploading/etc?
  2. I am running on a physical win10 box. I worked around whatever this is... by removing the "drives" from the Google account using clouddrive on a different computer. Then I was able to create a working disk by being sure to check the format and mount checkbox under advanced on the create drive. I also did not use the full disk encryption (though I really do no know what that means since it encrypts stuff anyway)
  3. I'm having the same issues -- let me know if there's any extra data I can help provide...
  4. Another thing I found common with the deduplication is that it can get way behind on garbage collection and you might want to run the job more than once a week if your data changes much. I just ran it and it cleaned out a couple TB of space that drivepool reported as "Other" (the dedupe info is in the hidden System Volume Information directory)
  5. I'm a retard, missed the spot on that wiki about renaming the config file. Did that and it works well now -- thanks for your help!
  6. Ok, yes -- I remember you telling me I needed to do this on a previous topic. I just now went in with a Admin notepad and changed that setting to false. I've both restarted the drivepool service and rebooted the box, but it still "presents" the files on the drivepool drive as invalid, most of the time not even letting me do things like copy, etc. Are there any other settings you can think of for me to change, or a way to know that my changes to the service config file took effect? Also, is there any logging I can turn on that can shed light here? If I can help get to the bottom of this, I'm glad to help!
  7. Ok, so I've got 5x3Tb pool with 2x duplication on about half the folders, probably 10tb total space used. I'm having trouble where I can read a file fine from any of the original drive hidden pool folder, but the data appears corrupted when I try and use the file from the pool drive. Videos are unreadable, ISOs unmountable, etc,etc Any ideas? I'm also running data deduplication on server 2012r2 (only on source drives, not pool drive), but i thought since drivepool operated only at the file level, that would be ok. Thanks!
  8. Great answer, thanks! I'll probably leave it alone since the biggest benefit of dedupe is using across the entire pool, and it makes sense that that wouldn't work against the actual pool drive in this case. Thanks again!
  9. The only topics I've seen on this are a little old. It seems to me that it might work to enable Server's Data Deduplication tasks against the raw disk volumes instead of the main drivepool partition? does this sound like it would work? Thanks! -everyonce
