ok my Gigabyte z77 motherboard has 10 onboard sata ports 6 using onboard intel c220 controller and 4 using onboard marvell if I connect up 6 sata hd then the controller numbers show ok 0 to 5 if I connect up 10 drives it appears scanner can only show one port 0 and port 1 and port 2 as per the photo drive ( I ) should be 8 backup drive should be 9 drive J should be 10 so infact I should have as below hd blu ray sata port 0 system drive port 1 3 tb red E port 2 All On Intel C220 Controller 3 tb red F port 3 3 tb red G port 4 3 tb red H port 5 3 tb red I Port 6 3 tb red J Port 7 All on marvel controller 3 tb red K Port 8 250 gb back up Port 9 Hope this makes sense

thanks christopher decided to get it exchanged just couldn't understand why the wd tool said smart pass but scanner failed pending sector count is the error and is increasing

as title latest scanner beta is saying smart error on wd red 3tb pending recount errors but when I removed from server and ran wd utility it runs perfectly any ideas and happy new year to you all

no problem trying to get my head round it

checked over the network all folders for photos and video are duplicated reproducing the issue maybe an problem just noticed pictures from last years holiday which I know 100% were fine weeks ago are now like this will check poolparts folder

hi all not sure if its drivepool related but I am having issue with some pictures stored having the following effect as per attached looks like pixels have moved now im not sure how drivepool works but can it be the cause ? running latest r c and latest scanner beta

sorry don't know what happened here as regards the screen shot anyway rebooted three times and now back to normal some windows updates and I thought a reboot might help and it did very strange

as per title and screen shot also had to use custom name in scanner as it showed "disk drive" where all the others show the full western digital description just to add works fine just find it annoying

sorry to go off topic but how do you get scanner to show what controller each disc is connected to ?

I was running 447 and had the issue im gonna wait till the next official release and hopefully it will be sorted by then gone back to 446 and I have more color on my pie chart although only 2 out of my five drives are not greyed out

I have the same problem even after I updated to the latest beta 447 also my drive pie chart is coloured grey only and when I press the small pie chart I get the statistics are incomplete

what happens when you press the little blue pie chart to the left of the big grey one My unit says statistics incomplete

im running the latest beta 2.1.0.446 and pressed remeasure and six/seven hrs later all my discs are still grey like your and all my drives are grey as well problem is I have no % bar and when I press pool options it says measuring I have 5 x 3 tb

still not 100% but much better will need to do some checking before I finally close this issue :-) still think scanner only works showing correct port when using one controller use two onboard controller and things get untidy will confirm in 24 hrs

well to keep everyone in the loop so to speak alex has fixed my issue and im up and running again thanks guys

Christopher I also fell for the drive letter column when I first started using the product but this not the case here when I added another drive as a system backup I now get port 1 system drive c/d port 2 data drive 1 e port 3 data drive 2 f port 4 data drive 3 g port 0 data drive 5 h port 5 data drive 4 I port 8 system backup think scanner or drivepool is getting confused with two onboard sata controllers it should be port 0 blu ray writer (obviously not shown in scanner) port 1 system drive c/d port 2 data drive 1 e All ONBOARD INTEL port 3 data drive 2 f port 4 data drive 3 g port 5 data drive 4 h port 6 data drive 5 I ALL ONBOARD MARVELL port 7 system backup lets see what alex finds when he rdp into my system as it maybe related

just to clarify the $9.95 saving on each product I have scanner and drivepool on my whs 2011 server both products have the same activation code so when I try to get the saving it only allows me on one product is this right ?

would second that request have two servers and five pc's would love to be able afford scanner on all the pc's other than the servers

hi this might be difficult to explain but here we go under scanner settings you can have the port number listed I have made sure that under my bios that I have the following port 0 hddvd/blu ray write port 1 system drive c/d port 2 data drive 1 port 3 data drive 2 port 4 data drive 3 port 5 data drive 4 all connected to the onboard intel sata controller they all show up correctly under scanner UNTIL my board also has 4 ports using the marvell controller so when I add another 3tb hard drive on port 0 of this controller scanner shows port 1 system drive c/d port 2 data drive 1 e port 3 data drive 2 f port 4 data drive 3 g port 0 data drive 5 h port 5 data drive 4 I is this a BUG ?

done the above and linked to this page strange thing is all my household pc (5 in total) I can goto mycomputer/network/servername and view all folders that are missing from dashboard etc and also checked folders for content and it appears to be fine so totally confused now lets see what alex says he might want to rdp into my system

clean install first installed scanner and then drivepool nothing else installed

hi again I have run the permissions part of wss troubleshooter and that's how some shares have moved BUT only the original whs 2011 folders ok will carry out the above on sunday thanks again

ok did a full reinstall seemed to be ok had free space issue fixed installed scanner and drivepool ran wss troubleshooter and reset drive shares worked to a degree and moved all standard whs shares to drivepool z non of my custom shares as first photo were showing on dashboard under server folders done a reboot and hey presto back to free space error and not able to change folder locations of standard whs shares pictures etc now with the added bonus of no custom shares all my drives are scanning fine with no smart errors shall I open a ticket ? ps if I go into mycomputer drive pool Z and server folders can see all my folders fine

well I have started a reinstall as even though all my folders were missing after doing a wss troubleshooting reset permissions I still had the free space as unknown wish me luck :-)
