  1. Just tried a bit more and after the second attempt (reauthorize) it finally works. Very strange, tried on 2 different servers ... it works only after a reauthorize.

Yep i have this issue also.

Was on my to post list but you beat me :)

  2. would love this as well - however i think there is a technical aspect which makes this hard

I guess that is what i disagree with.

I basically have it working already, just have to do a few tricks that could be built in.

Its probably more a user experience they are worried about.

  3. OK, yes.... I am fully aware this has been asked over and over.

And yes.... I am fully aware you guys keep saying no.

However, I feel we are SOOOO CLOSE to working out of box.

I have two computers that i have clouddrive installed. I made one cloud drive and attached both, with one of them having zero upload threads(My read only box).

This works, and it works nearly the way i want it to.

Yes both are not writing but that is OK. If i write to the drive on the box that has upload, I dont see the new data as the file structure is pinned and doesn't refresh on the read only box. A quick work around is to stop the service delete the hidden cloud drive folder, start the service and reattached. It comes back in with zero upload threads and all is good.

If a read only box does not upload what is the problem here? We only need one little buried option to refresh the directories.

I am just talking out loud here. I'm open for discussion but its working for me and I am still rooting for this as a feature.

  4. I missed the part about white listing.

Appears to work after doing that.

    *EDIT*

    Spoke to soon.

When i name my connection I get an error.

Error connecting to Amazon Cloud Drive

    Security error.

    *EDIT2*

Just to note the app i created is in the 3rd party apps under settings in my amazon cloud drive with the following.

    This connection allows access to:

    • Ability to modify your Cloud Drive content.
    • Ability to read your Cloud Drive content.
  5. Saw the change log about the new amazon cloud drive, however i am having trouble connecting.

I have provided the Client ID and Secret and provided the return url as

    Allowed Return URLs icon-tooltip.png

     but i get the following

    Any ideas?

  6. So month and month ago. i could never get my CloudDrive to connect to my One Drive for Business. Well it works now so that is nice. However something i noticed was the max chunk size was 1MB while a lot of the other providers i have played with go way way higher. Is there some sort of limitation on One drive for Business?

  7. Here:

    http://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/1610-how-the-stablebit-clouddrive-cache-works/

However, it sounds liek this may be a windows cache issue specifically. Depending on how much was going on.

If this continues to happen, let us know.

Also, what OS was this and what version of StableBit CloudDrive?

I will keep an eye on it.

It was win 10 using the latest beta.

Next time it happens i am going to also see if i can steal the ram back to an app that needs it or if its really just completely used up for a "Mapped File"

  8. Could you explain a bit how CloudDrive uses ram? I was out of my 8 GB and ran RamMap(sysinternal) and it was being used by a "Mapped File" that was the cloudpart\cache0 file. I moved the data so it didnt have to upload anymore and cleared local cache and all my ram was freed up. It was using 6GB.

  9. This first method is what we're doing.

But the offer the option to use your own security account.

    We've talked about it. Extensively.

However, the issue isn't just the production status. The entire service has some pretty fundamental issues, as well. Which we've reported to Amazon.

Well i might try to sign up for a google for work account.

Tired of amazon. Its weird normally their customer service is top notch.

  10. That's why....

    They're cheating... Heavily.

    https://github.com/yadayada/acd_cli/blob/master/docs/authorization.rst

Specifically, they're requiring you to sign up for an account as a developer, and then input that info in, and use it. Meaning that each and every user is using a different developer account.

Something you're *not* supposed to do. You're supposed to use a single developer account for your entire program.

In fact, this may be part of why Amazon has been a nightmare about approval.... because they have hundreds or thousands of developer accounts being used by people using ACD_CLI.

    Can't beat em, join em.

  11. Right now? We're stuck in development status, that means the more active connections from our software, the more the entire product gets throttled.  More threads means more connections, which means a worse experience for everyone.  As in, unusable.  And that includes for Amazon (who needs to test our program, now).

How are all these other tools that are popping up on github that access ACD not having the same issue? for example https://github.com/yadayada/acd_cli

    *EDIT*

Actually upon reading a bit into it i think they are approved.

Just baffled as why the hell you guys cant get approved.

  12. There is a bunch of stuff that Amazon should be doing on their end. Starting with properly throttling API calls instead of punishing us for using too many calls.

If that sounds a bit bitter .... It is. And it's meant to be an example of how poorly Amazon has handled their entire Cloud Drive service. Not just the API.

Basically the entire backend is poorly designed and managed, and the Amazon Cloud Drive team really needs to call the S3 team and step up their game.

What is the harm in giving us a few more threads for amazon? I used the old build that didnt have the 2 thread cap and it worked great. However you guys kept adding new features that eventually i said ok i gotta upgrade. I am as made at amazon as everyone else but really if i just had a few more threads problem solved for me.
