  1. How do I uninstall? I tried to remove it from control panel but got an error. I rebooted and there is no Cloud drive in the programs list but its still on my pc ?
  2. So I can have a number of drives...eg, one from amazon and one from Google and one from Dropbox then pool them ..yes
  3. Really? Maybe I misread? If dropping a file onto a pool of amazon gmail and drop box...what account does the file live?
  4. What would be amazing would for you to create some software that can Create a drivepool using Stablebit clouddrive. Just imagine Gdrive Amazon dropbox etc... all pooled into one virtual drive... drools
  5. Just done exactly this. Remove (disconnect) the pool drives. Install the New OS Install Drivepool Connect the disks Like Magic the pool will be there for you. It really is this simple.
  6. Installed drivepool on the new OS ...connected the drives and like magic it all appeared.I'm getting this though..I guess from the last server OS. I can access the folders OK but its bugging me. In my haste I forgot to deactivate the key before I moved the moved the pool..TBH the server was not allowing me to launch anything anyway. Shall I email you or just use the same key? I was running scanner too.
  7. Before I install Drivepool again on the new OS (same Hardware) do I have to physically remove the drives then install drivepool then reattach. Or can I just install drivepool while he disks are attached and running.Windows 8.1
  8. I use Crashplan....Have all the home photos and videos up there..Also have a second HP micro sever mirroring the (main) home stuff folders. Plus duplication of said files and folders on Main.
  9. Excellent Any ETA on windows 10 release of drivepool and scanner?
  10. Hi, Can I use my old Stable-bit key on a new OS? I need to rebuild my home server but I'm going to be using windows 10. Can I just install drivepool on the new OS (same hardware) and reuse my key? Will drivepool just see all the drives in the pool? will I have to reset duplication parameters again? Thanks
  11. Yeah....Install essentials role then Drivepool...All seen in the dashboard now
  12. Great. Yes it is Server 2012 R2 Standard with the "Windows Server Essentials Experience" role installed, Great...I'm pleased I have been some help and glad to be part of the goal Great support BTW...Kudos to a great bit of software... I'm plugging you over at http://forums.overclockers.co.uk people need to know how good and robust your software is
  13. thanks It wont effect anything will it?
  14. Hi Drashna, It was 2012 R2 standard...I installed Drivepool then I installed Essentials experience. Thanks
  15. http://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/208-stablebit-drivepool-controlling-folder-placement/
  16. I can't see Drivepool on my dashboard in Server 2012 Standard R2? http://stablebit.com/Support/DrivePool/2.X/Manual?Section=Dashboard Should I? Thanks easyrider
  17. Great...I have copied 5TB to the pool now after rebuilding with server 2012. I have not enabled duplication yet as I have all the data backed up on various external disks and Computers. The last 2TB is copying now. I didn't want to have duplication running while copying to the pool over the network. So I have decided to enable duplication when all the data is back on the server. One final thing before I pull the disk...I take it if duplication is not enabled on the pool and you remove a disk...It copies the contents of the soon to be removed disk to other drives in the pool until it the drive is empty like IN WHS V1? So no data is lost? Thanks for the answers BTW..
  18. I have just had a thought...I want to replace one of my 2TB disks with a bigger one but I have no spare sata connectors available on the mobo to add the larger disk first and then remove the smaller one like you suggest... Is it safe to remove the smaller disk from the pool...shut down the server ....fit the new bigger drive reboot then add the new disk to the pool? All goes back to normal? Just like in WHS V1?
  19. So just to clarify. I can use Server 2012 to backup the individual drives... But I can use SyncToy to backup the folders on the pool? My needs are I just want to browse to drivepool drive X: within backup software select the folders I want to backup and that's send the backup off the 4TB usb external drive. In WHS V1 the server backup option was very simple and incremental ...Is there no way of implementing this in future versions of drivepool? Thanks easyrider
  20. Thanks drashna for the info..If I backup the the individual drives from the pool I will be faced with duplicate data within the backups? I am looking into backing up the Personal family photo and videos files in the pool eg. \\server\x$\home movies to crashplan...Does this work with folders in the pool? Thanks again. easyrider
  21. "Well, on the smaller disk, you should be able to access all of the files in the hidden "PoolPart.xxxx" folder in the root of the drive. So basically, add the new disk to the pool, and copy the contents of the "smaller" disk's PoolPart folder, to the new disk's PoolPart folder (the "xxxx" part will be different on the disks). After you've done that, everythign should show up in the pool. After that, physically pull the "smaller" disk from the system and then remove the missing disk from the pool And then you'll want to "Re-measure" the pool, to make sure it identifies everything properly." drashna I think this is the process after doing some research on this. I have 7 x 2TB drives and want to swap a couple out for some 3TB drives
  22. HI, WHS V1 has finally chugged to an end...So I rebuilt my server with Server 2012 R2.I have had a nightmare with SS and parity and some research has left me a tad scared about Storage spaces....Slow speeds etc...Lost drives...ect So I decided to give Drivepool a whirl. Just copying data back to the server as we speak and speeds has gone back to normal. My question is. Is duplication enabled by default? I haven't done much other than add the 7 x 2TB drives (500gb SYS Drive not in pool ) to the pool, created folders .And began the copy...I want all my data back on the 12TB pool ASAP. Also if I run the Server Backup and choose folders from the pool like Photos and Home movies folders does it just backup one copy to say the 4TB external USB drive I will be using for automated backups of the files on the pool? Oh If i decide to buy can I just upgrade to later versions easily without rebuilding the pool? Erm.....Can't think of anything else right now. Thanks easyrider
