  1. What version of Scanner are you using? Looks like this has happened before 2.4.0.2908 (WSS) ---------------- * ESET's NOD32 anti-virus was incorrectly flagging the .wssx file as a Trojan. Only their anti-virus was doing it, and no one else's. The problem was an EXE that stops / starts the service during the upgrade process. Recompiling the EXE with the zlib compression and no code changes resolved the false positive. Otherwise this version is identical to 2.4.0.2905. http://stablebit.com/Scanner/ChangeLog?Platform=whs2

    Upgrading WHS2011 to 2.x

User manual pics outdated. Located here now.
  3. Try the config file Drashna uploaded here. Others have had issues modifying the config file. http://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/260-highpoint-rocketraid-2522-with-3-sansdigital-8bay-esata-enclosures-no-smart/?p=1608
  4. Have you seen this thread? http://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/94-drivepool-and-snapraid/?p=620
  5. It might be an Indexing issue. Ensure your pool drive is being Indexed. http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Q7200705B
  6. Just a wild guess, but do you have drivepool set up to report as ntfs? http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Advanced_Settings CoveFs_ReportAsNtfs - Report as "NTFS" to most applications that ask. What errors were you getting?
  7. Also you have File Placement Limiter set to try not to fill above 85%. All your other drives are over 85%
  8. Their download page points here if that helps http://www.areca.us/support/download/API/
  9. You need to check to see if Windows is Indexing those folders or possible rebuild the Index. I know I had to add my pool location to Indexing. http://wiki.covecube...ePool_Q7200705B
  10. Have you enabled SMART in Card Bios? "It is necessary to enable “HDD SMART Status Polling” function before SMART information is accessible. This function is disabled by default." Section 3.7.5.10 http://www.naic.edu/~phil/hardware/manuals/ARC_V4.1.pdf

    New User Issues

You can, but the fastest way is to show hidden file/folders - Open your X drive and move the data from the drive into the "PoolParts.xxxx" folder. Then everything will appear in pool Z.
  12. It has been mentioned in other threads about the config file not cooperating. Try copying the DrivePool.Service.exe.config to the desktop editing it then coping it back. Then reboot. I am using the same version on my WHS2011 and both places report NTFS.
  13. What version are you using? This is what I get hovering over a disk in v1.3.3.7563.
  14. From the change log for Scanner (see Scanner Settings -> Heat). 2.4.0.2922 / 2.4.0.2923 ----------------------- * Disk temperature will now be reported in either Celsius or Fahrenheit (see Scanner Settings -> Heat). It defaults to your regional settings in Windows. http://stablebit.com/Scanner/ChangeLog?Platform=whs2
  15. If you are doing a new install you should disconnect all drives except OS drive. Install OS Install DrivePool (Then change DrivePool to drive letter of choice) Reattach data drives Then use "WSS Troubleshooter" to remap shares (http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_DrivePool_Utilities) Your data will not be affected in any way.

    Scanner Scheduling?

Are you renaming the Scanner.Service.exe.config_default to Scanner.Service.exe.config?
  18. In the new release (v1.3.3.7563) all the folders say there not pooled and duplication column is blank. Everything seems to be working. Anyone else having the same issue? I found the problem. If you open the dashboard before the service is connected you get what is seen in the image and have to close the dashboard and reopen to see the proper columns.
  19. Does the same thing happen if you (Push) copy a file from the Windows 8 media machine to another local client? (instead of pulling thru the network) Is this a new problem or always been this way?
  20. Thoroughly talked about here (on old forum) http://forum.covecube.com/discussion/comment/4556#Comment_4556
  21. This looks like part of the change in v2.4 on handling USB media. See the blog for StableBit Scanner 2.4 Release Final 2.4.0.2914 / 2.4.0.2915 ----------------------- * Added new scan options to handle removable media better. (see Scanner Settings -> Scanner). * Do not query USB / removable Flash drives for SMART. (Smart_DoNotQueryRemovableMedia and Smart_DoNotQueryUnknownMedia in .config) (http://stablebit.com/Scanner/ChangeLog?Platform=whs2)

    License Transfer

Why not just use the 30 day trial on WHS 2011? And if you like it then you can transfer your license from Windows 8 to WHS 2011. You don't need to buy another license unless you plan on running on both machines past the trial period.
  23. Have you tried to re-download the program? Your log shows version 2.0.0.324 but on the download page there is only 2.0.0.320.
  24. See Users Manual Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 (and R2), Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 Edit Remote Control http://blog.covecube.com/2013/02/stablebit-drivepool-2-0-beta-remote-control/
  25. Just run trial on new machine until everything is transferred. Then deactivate it on the old and activate on the new. DP - Settings-manage license Scanner- all settings- license-view license details
