The dashboard appears to only create new folders in X:\serverfolders, but you can create shares directly on your drivepool and modify permissions in the dashboard.

This is very common, this post should help you.

What version of Scanner? Are you wanting Scanner to scan all your drives at the same time? Look at the throttling setting in Scanner-"Do not interfere with other disks on the same controller" http://stablebit.com/Support/Scanner/1.X/Manual?Section=Settings -
Since Drivepool becomes read only when you have a missing disk I don't believe you can add a new disk like you want to. But you can still stop drivepool service and swop in your new 2TB drive (if new initialize and format via windows) and copy the content of the poolpart.xxxxxxxxxxx folder on 500GB to the new drive. Shutdown server remove new drive readd old, start server then force remove 500GB drive (might be able to just remove 500GB drive and leave new 2TB when reinstalling old 2TB drive and just remove missing disk from dashboard). Then add new 2TB disk. Move content into new poolpart.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on new 2TB. DP really has nothing to do with a copy from disk to disk in this situation. Just ensure the service is not running during this process.

You have to move your existing data into the hidden poolpart.xxxxxxxxxxx folder on each drive.
-
Can you provide a screenshot of your pool tab. It sounds like you made a Raid 0 combining all your disks.

In Scanner click SMART details for the damaged drive and click IGNORE. You will have two options ignore current or ignore permanently. Ignore current flags the disk as ok and if it gets works you will get the SMART warning again.

What issues are you having? You shouldn't have any issues downgrading, worst case follow this Q8964978

What do you mean you created a JBOD? Did you initialize the disks in the RocketRaid bios or just attach the disks and initialize in windows? On my RocketRaid card I left the disk legacy and windows picked them up. How large is the (F) drive? How large is your drivepool showing (G)? It should be around 10.88TB if you added 4x3TB drives.

Did you modify the Scanner.Service.exe.config_default to Scanner.Service.exe.config? There have been some that have had issues editing the config so Drashna has one posted here. http://community.covecube.com/index.php?/topic/260-highpoint-rocketraid-2522-with-3-sansdigital-8bay-esata-enclosures-no-smart/?p=1608 -
You may have to Take Ownership of the files first. Properties-Security-Advanced-Owner-Edit check replace owner on subcontainers and objects

The issue with using "Gateway" is the Remote Desktop Service is not enabled in WHS 2011. I used most of the steps found here. http://www.rayheffer.com/953/building-a-remote-desktop-gateway-rdg-rd-gateway-server/ RDP app Configuration-Gateway Add Gateway Server (xxxx.homeserver.com) Credentials (username and password) New Remote Desktop Connection Name (optional) PC Name (LAN IP or Machinename) Username (username) Gateway (xxx.homeserver.com)

To RDP to the server with the RDP app you need to port forward the RDP port (3389) to your server to access it outside of your LAN. The easiest way to configure app for to connect to server is New Remote Desktop Connection Name (optional) PC Name (xxxxxxxxx.homeserver.com) Username (username) or leave blank to enter at connection Gateway (no gateway configured)) WHS2011

You could also go to the "File Placement Limiter" balancer and uncheck "Duplicated" and "Unduplicated". That should evacuate all data off the disk.
-
You can use either it comes down to personal preference. Version 2 had a different user interface since it if for multiple OS.
-
Ideally you should move the data on the individual disks into the poolpart.xxxxxx folder. This would take seconds not hours. All data on D drive moved directly into the poolpart.xxxx and the same for the E drive, then balance.

Since you have 240 pending unreadable sectors you need to run chkdsk /r on your F drive.
