Thats assuming you tried pasting in your license code, and activating, and it failed. I'm sure someone will be along soon to help.
I know what needs to be deactivated, but the old system is no longer functional. I still have a copy of the files, but not a working version of Windows.

After the upgrade on the new hardware, the old windows did not work and had to be reinstalled. On the new system, the license activation failed. How do I restore the license on the new machine now?

When you purchase the license, that license belongs to you, not the machine you activate it on. However, there are checks to make sure that the licenses are activated on the correct number of systems, though. But you can deactivate the license on one system and then activate it on a new system, at any time. And all of our software supports doing this from within the UI (unless it's attached to StableBit Cloud, then it's handled a bit differently).

In russia it is memed as "взаимоисключающие параграфы" (mutually exclusive paragraphs) or Catch-22 in english.
So: "provide" or "not shared" , that is the question?
