Schorschi
Disks configured on a HP SmartArray P800 S.M.A.R.T. status no being reported? Any suggestions? Tardas-Zib
Christopher (Drashna)
Chances are that you need to use "UnsafeDirectIo" for that card: http://wiki.covecube.com/StableBit_Scanner_Advanced_Settings set the value for "UnsafeDirectIo" to "true". Be warned: some controllers do not like the methods use to query SMART data with this option, and can cause the controller or the system to become unstable. craig69
The HP SmartArray P800 is a hardware controller used on HP enterprise servers and the controller reports the array configuration to the OS as a single drive per array. The OS does not have access directly to the hardware disk drives. I suggest you use the HP Smart Storage Administrator designed for that controller. It will give you all the information required to determine disk drive status. You can also set up traps to notify you of pending disk failures using the HP Lights-Out Remote Management interface.
