Adding Clouddrives to an existing pool / Change Cachedrive

Harri

Question

Hi,

after I had a couple of HDD problems I'm right now redesigning my Drivepoolvolume.

I have several HDDs and a Drivepool including some Clouddrives.

Because of the HDD failures right now a lot of reduplicating and reorganizing stuff is happening. Since I have not a Gigabit upload the Clouddrivepool is slowing down everything a lot (and filling up my Cachedrive).

To handle these symptoms I created "Local Disk"-Clouddrives to act as buffers. Not a nice way but the best I can do afaik. Howevery all those CloudDrives are now filling up my Cachedrive which is a slow HDD that is built into the PC. I would prefer to use 1 or 2 SSDs hocked up in USB cages. However I cannot find a option to use them as Cachedrives...

Any ideas on how I could handle this better? Soonish there will be 2 HDDs added to the normal Drivepool. However right now they are seperated and I plan to do some testing if all the files (who are still on them) are still in the pool or not. But I would like to wait for this until I can be sure that the duplication state is back to normal.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to change the cache drive without unmounting (detaching) the drives first.  This means that the upload on them has to complete first.   Or you have to destroy them (not ideal, obviously).

Once they're detached, you can attach them again and specify a specific drive.

As for the SSDs, that should be fine (great, even), as long as they're not USB/removable, and they're not formatted as dynamic disks.

Okay. Those SSDs are mSATAs and connect like a dynamic disk. So no possibility to use them as a cache.

Is there a possibility to get the full FTP log? I'm unsure on where the error happens since WinSCP is working normally... (however quite slow)
