r3muxd
I'm asking because I plan on getting DrivePool and using it with SnapRAID so I get data protection. One problem I have though: Does DrivePool write data across disks like RAID-0, or does it just fill up each disk in turn? Thanks!
0 Christopher (Drashna)
Sort of . It places the full file on each disk, it doesn't break it up into blocks/chunks. That said, the default placement strategy is to place files on the disk with the most available free space. So, it does spread out the files. That said, if you want it filled one disk at a time, then the "Ordered File Placement" balancer plugin is what you want: http://stablebit.com/DrivePool/Plugins
