Does DrivePool stripe data across disks like RAID-0, or does it write to each disk in succession until everything is full?

Sort of .

 

It places the full file on each disk, it doesn't break it up into blocks/chunks.

 

That said, the default placement strategy is to place files on the disk with the most available free space.  So, it does spread out the files.

 

That said, if you want it filled one disk at a time, then the "Ordered File Placement" balancer plugin is what you want:
