  1. I have noticed that my pool is very frequently measured and checked. I don't see anything in event logs that would suggest a faulty controller or drive, and Scanner is also not reporting any issues. Drivepool seems also to measure and scan frequently after reboots. I am running 2.2.2.934 on Windows 10 with SATA Drives. I noticed that a cycle of measuring & checking may have been triggered by events of Macrium Reflect, which runs backups regularly on my machine. From my event viewer: Information 07/06/2019 13:58:54 mrcbt Event ID 7 Device \Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1 has been surprise removed (IRP_MN_SURPRISE_REMOVAL) Information 07/06/2019 13:58:54 mrcbt Event ID 6 Device \Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1 has been removed (IRP_MN_REMOVE_DEVICE) Apparently these are normal events by Macrium Reflect, and are also only logged as information. Is it possible that they cause Drivepool to remeasure and check, even though it is unrelated? The files that are being backed upped are from outside the pool, but the resulting backup image is placed in the pool. Possible relation to
  2. I am running a powershell script that initiates a system shutdown at a specific time - nothing fancy, basically just a "shutdown -s -t 60". I would like not to execute this script when DrivePool is doing anything, be it measuring, checking, balancing (or anything I have missed here). Is that possible? Are any "flags" accessble that I could use in a script? Initially I thought Windows Task Scheduler would be up to the job, because it has an option to prevent starting a task if the system is "idle", but this appears only to measure user activity. I would need something from DrivePool that I could pick up in my script, even if its is just a temp file that is created when DrivePool does something and removed when finished.
  3. Thanks, that's what I thought.
  4. I have login issues with a dedicated Google account that I use for Clouddrive. I cannot login directly to google anymore, but strangely, it works fine with Clouddrive. Does Clouddrive store the username (and perhaps even password) somewhere where I could recover them?
  5. Quick question: is upload verification required for box? I've seen on the forum here that it's not necessary for some providers, but haven ot found a specific comment for box.
  6. I have a question about file placing rules. One drive ("SpecialDrive") of my pool should be dedicated to one folder ("SpecialFolder") and nothing else. I could obviously select under File Placement>Folders the correct pattern. But my understanding is that any new folder in root may be placed on SpecialDrive, and I don't want this. So is the correct thing to define Rules? If yes, is the correct setting: 1. \SpecialFolder\* > only SpecialDrive selected; "Never allow files to be placed on any other disk" active. 2. \* > only SpecialDrive unselected, "Never allow files to be placed on any other disk" active. Does that make sense? I am a bit confused about the "When a new drive is added to the pool". Should I activate this to Rule 2?

    Cache on Pooled Drive

I've realised that I actually cannot select the pooled drive as a cache drive...probably a safety feature that Alex implemented! As for the type of drive: why is an SSD better? I only have a 80/20 Mbit broadband connection, so obviously any HDD is faster...why would an SSD bring more performance?
  8. After a round of testing Stablebit's products, I've now happily bought a license for all of them. I have a quick question about the location of the CloudDrive cache. Is it okay to place this in a pooled drive created by DrivePool (all HDDs)? Or is it better to have dedicated drive outside the pool for this?
