  1. So I when I add a new hard drive to my system I always, Run a full format, not quick Check it in Scanner Use it as a drive for rar files in a folder/temp upload/download files Normally I do this for like a month ish. But my pool would love for me to add this new drive to the mix. What's your thoughts on when I should trust the new drive and it won't suffer from infant mortality? TIA
  2. check the log, Mine was stuck on a PDF. I deleted the PDF and drive removed easily!
  3. Thanks for posting up this info! When I get a new drive I like to use it for a month with temp files etc to make sure it doesn't suffer from infant mortality. This plugin will make it easier than my temp downloads folder
  4. Alright, been searching and trying to resolve with no luck so its time to ask for help! I tried some DCPMD commands, reset duplication cache, check pool fileparts (Lots of red items, I may have had this going on longer than I was aware) But cannot clear the warnings/bad files. Any thoughts or directions to look? TIA
  5. Yea, was a bummer. But I have to be honest and not saying it lightly. Installing drivepool and opening it for the first time was one of the most amazing feelings/shocks to see everything perfectly populated and the pool back in play without needing to do anything else. VERY happy with drivepool!
  6. you caught it..... I had an issue with 3x diff copies of my win7's so I had to grab a new copy of a multi-installer and it was laid out different and the x86 got installed................................ ...time to start over. THANKS!!!!!!!!!
  7. Howdy Folks! So I started to install drivepool onto my desktop but ran into a problem, Error 0x80070661 This installation Package is not supported by this processor Type. I attached the log below. Is there a way i can work around this? I just set up Win7Pro fresh. 8. So this beast of a server had the motherboard kick the bucket. So I have been trying to figure out what to do. My plan is to pickup a Qnap to replace the server but of course currently all my files are in drivepool on the hard drives. I have a Win7 PC that I could install all the drives into. Can I install drivepool onto Windows 7 desktop, run the drivepool recovery program to setup the pool on the win7 pc? Thanks in advance!
  9. Just saw another post about doing the full format to have is Zero out the disk to test it. I have her running in the background now formatting and then I am going to run that "disk usage limiter" I had No idea it was in place and it was something I was hoping existed for duplicated data. A "Problem" that now has made my experience better.
  10. i've heard of a few issues with some of their drives early on, something like infant mortality. etc. How long would you guys test a hard drive before being confident it has the ability to take its place in the pool?
  11. Idea, I can do in another desktop. Copy all the contents from the 1tb to the 4tb and then slap the 4tb into the server? "Adding a drive to the pool is quick and easy. You can add a drive with existing data already on it, or a brand new unformatted drive." http://stablebit.com/Support/DrivePool/2.X/Manual?Section=Adding%20a%20Drive%20to%20the%20Pool%20/%20Creating%20a%20New%20Pool
  12. so I got tight on funds and was unable to expand my storage and now things are a bit maxed out, Realllly, maxed out.... Hardware, 128gb SSD 1tb 1tb 2tb 3 tb New 4 tb on standby I just installed the SSD, everything is working well. pool has been restored. But where the problem comes up is I only have 5x Sata ports which are all occupied. I wanted to pull a 1tb out and put the 4tb in its place. I have duplication running on most of my folders (im a vid/photog). 1.9tb is duplication free space is about 46gb as of now. I cleaned off all backups from all terminals and have been removing un necessary files/folders, but I know I sadly don't have 1tb of data I can clean up. is it possible to physically remove a TB drive, 4tb in its place and then "remove from pool" the other 1tb drive? just thinking outloud random ideas. just trying to see if its possible to somehow jerry rig a solution. Thanks for your thoughts!!
